A few less evil people in the world, but I doubt it would be worth it. They'd be made martyrs and propaganda weapons.

The question in this case is what does the rule of law call for in the case. If law abiding nations forgoe executing the punishment the law calls for out of fear of the convicted becoming martyrs, that too is a slippery slope, and one in which the law becomes ineffective. Let he process decide.
