Religious Observances - Offensive or Not?

That's about the level of it. But isnt that the case with most aspects of religious difference? Im right, so therefore you are wrong and we shouldn't do what is wrong.

I totally agree. Especially in the case of observances such as Christmas. I am definately no christian but I celebrate christmas because friends and family celebrate and what makes them happy ultimately makes me happy. However, does your belief branch to ALL religious holidays? If a religious group wanted to celebrate their belief in a way that breaches your own moral opinion is that acceptable because they are free to do as they want or wrong because they are doing something which you believe to be wrong? (This isn't aimed purely at ChristineES by the way, just taking your awesome quotes )

Also, several places (including my own college) has expressed the opinion that we should not celebrate christmas because it may offend other religious groups as the college is multi-racial. I personally think this is ridiculous but evidently it was constructed because others think differently. Anyone else?

Not only is this remark completely and entirely off-topic, it doesn't even make any sense. If someone's ego is big, they worship only themselves and refuse to bow to others. They would not "create" a god.
