Prayers and thoughts for the Pope

i'm taking this from the weekday Shemonah Esrei...with the Pope's health failing i felt the need to post this publicly....

Heal us HaShem - then we will be healed; save us - then we will be saved, for You are our praise. Bring complete recovery for all our ailments-
May it be Your will, HaShem, my G-d and the G-d of my forefathers, that You quickly send a complete recovery from heaven, spiritual healing and physical healing to the patient, Pope John Paul II, among the other patients of Israel
for You are G-d, King, the faithful and compassionate Healer. Blessed are You, Hashem, Who heals the sick of His people Israel.

Amen

Whether or not you are Roman Catholic, or even Christian, we can all recognize the former Pope as a good man. A great man, even. Therefore, I propose that all members of RF post here, to display their thanks, and respect, for the Pope.

I celebrate his return to the Otherworld, and hope he has achieved what is necessary to be raised to a higher realm. He is free now. Free, until he reincarnates (or whatever you want to believe).

Allow his soul to rest, and remember his deeds. Grieve not, for it was to happen at some point, and it has delivered him from his pain. Grieve not, for he is reborn, either in the Otherworld, Heaven, the Summerlands, or elsewhere. Grieve not, for he would not wish for it. Grieve not.

If there is ever a roman catholic man whom I am deeply respectful, it would have to be Pope John Paul II. As his spirit begins to pass, and his body fail... I can't help but cry. Any other man would surely give up, give in, and move on. But not the Pope. He stayed, and he did it not for himself, but for the world and the spiritual need of his people. The spirits assure me his spirit will be at complete peace, and he deserves it. I love you Pope John Paul II. I love you.

Pope Jhon Paul the 2nd , is indeed a fine man and will be greatly missed. he did so much to bring others together. He was humble as well as strong , people seemed to be drawn to him , those of all faiths. He has had many things to overcome , but alwasy no matter how he felt physicaly he was there for the people . May God grant him peace in these final hours.

those Pope is a truly incredible man. i recall seeing him on TV when i was little and being awed into mental silence by his presence, even his televised presence.

he's held on for a long time and fought long and hard against his failing health. he has done so much with his life. i wish him a peaceful passing, and peace to those who will mourn him.

Today in the National Post (Canada), there is a picture of a little girl crying as she met The Holy Father on His last visit to Canada. The Heading "I told him I loved him and she said it back" She was one of a handful of children the was picked to meet John Paul II at the airport on His arrival to Toronto. This picture ran in many papers around the world and I believe illistrates the impact that this man has had on all ages and religions around the world. This little girl now thirteen was quoted yesterday "I know he will go to a happy place". Alleluia!!!

This Pope will be greatly missed by millions of people. He was truly a remarkable man. You could just feel the compassion exuding from him. Perhaps some might look into some of his writings, to get the true feel of this man. The next Pope will have some very big shoes to fill, so to speak.

I am certain that when he comes before God, he will hear these words, " Well done my good and faithful servant." God bless his soul.

Even though I am not a Catholic, I had nothing but the utmost respect for the Pope, he did a lot for the people of this world both Catholic and non. He showed us that it doesn't matter what your race colour religion etc. God loves all peoples and he himself demonstrated this by visiting countries where Christianity is frowned upon. May he rest in peace and may his soul find contentment in heaven with The Father.

RIP John Paul II
