Hey Grace great to meet you. Tell us a couple of things about you. I noticed you listed your status as student. What are you studying?

whoo, that was quick! like you said, big place!

well, i'm studying English right now, and hope to go into teaching. my spiritual milling around apparently ended in the past couple years as i've settled down with a local Quaker meeting house (parish), which i love alot. still open to others' ideas and beliefs, though. look forward to talking with you all!

Hi gracie...welcome to our growing family! I spent some of my tender years in a Menonite church with the most loving people I have ever met... and spent lots of time with Amish kids. I never felt they were at all different than me so when I grew up and heard nasty comments about them I was offended because these people were not as I was hearing...Is Quaker similar to these? If so I'll be looking forward to chating with you...if not I'll still look forward to your view point in discussions.

Hope you enjoy your time here.:)

thank you, from the heart!

i'm still learning about Quakerism, but i do know that there are groups of Quakers and individuals who dress in the 'plain' style, like prayer caps for women, straw hats for the gents that take after more traditional Mennonite clothing.

Quakers are offically a Mennonite sect, though our views tend to be more liberal than others'. and yes, Amish kids are great! :grins:

and thank you for your warm welcome! glad to be here!

You are quite welcome...how did you end up there? I think you made a good choice...The menonite order I was with were quite strict and disciplined but so NICE and welcoming such a little outsider that I was...lol

I made life long friends with those kids and when we meet out anywhere it's as if it's only been a few days since we last spoke.:)

I gotta go for the night...send me an email or private message sometime...smiles.
