confused....

Hi all, im confused on whole Christianity split into lots of areas,

ok, let me start from the beginning im writing a story and one of the main characters is a priest/vicar dude called James Dobium

anyway i've just started to write his section...and i was wondering because i've called him Father James Dobium, but can you only be called Father in one area of Christianity or all of them?

sorry if this is a REALLY stupid question, its just im nto actually a christian, but any help would be appreiciated (sp?)

Father is a term generally associated with Catholics. ministers are ussually protestant. so if you use the term Father, it will probably be thought of as Catholic.

You might want to use "Pastor", depending on what faith the person is from. Other variations are "Reverend" or "Minister."

Where is your character preaching? (What area and faith, I should say.)

thats the problem,...i jsut had him down as a christian...no certain area,

iv jst named him James Dobium, wife and kids, a ******* child out of marriage (while married to his wife), guardian of the horseman death and ends up dead....

is there any certain area of Christianity which you cant be married and have kids in?

The Celt
:DIf he has a wife and kids, he is definitly not a Father. Father's take a vow of celibacy and aren't allowed to marry. So i'd go with what Feathers said. Thanks for coming up with "reverend" feathers, i couldn't remember that word for the life of me.:D

okie...deffo not Father, Reverant James Dobium it is :)

its kinda of apcolyptical...in our world and time, Lucifer begins the second war for heavan by breaking the 4 seals of the 4 Horsemen of the apacolypse

i just dont wanna make big mistakes and get crushed for it :) :162:
