the mark of the beast has it begun?

I am disturbed by two news stories that i have read in the last two days.
One said that germany has started requiring people to scan thier fingerprints in one of their grocery stores.
Pennsylvania has about 35 schools participating in a program that requires school children to scan thier fingerprints to get their lunch.
Participating in this is if it is the mark of the beast is strictly forbidden by the righteous. I am concerned because there doesn't seem be an alternative to eventually having to participate in this awful thing. i would like to hear some other opinions about this matter. these are links to the news stories i read.

There are always people claiming that 'the end is near.' While yes, we must be on guard against the Enemy, do not let that distract you from living for God. The Bible does state that nobody, /nobody/ knows the hour or the day of 'the end'. That we should live every day as if it is our last--loving God, each other, and the world.

Yaakov, it would be better to know Christ well than to look for the Antichrist. If he is to appear in our lifetimes, and you cannot recognize the real thing, then it is unlikely you will be ready for the replacement. So, be careful, you can lead yourself in circles real quick with that :). This isn't the first time in history that somebody's seen the Mark of the Beast, and I doubt it's the last.

Yaakov,
I don't believe it will be that subtle. When that time comes, everyone will know....and make a choice. God isn't holding His hands behind His back and asking you to guess which is correct.

Have no worries about this or anything else. Look only to Christ, fix your eyes on Him, and endure to the end. Our purpose never has been to do anything else but to live for Christ. Antichrists will come and go, even nations will rise and fall, but we will continue to fix ourselves on Christ until He returns with victory.

The mark of the beast has been in the earth for over 1500 years. It's the sign of the cross.
Dr. Kahn, could you explain yourself on another thread? This sounds very interesting.

I may of course be wrong, but I think you'll find that these measures are all to try and and take measures against terrorists, and Identity fraud.

There are a lot of trials going on here in the UK to try and combine an I.D card, credit card and passport with biometric data. There is a lot of opposition to the proposals because of the fear of 'Big brother'. Frankly, I cannot understand the fear (appart from those who have something to hide).:)

The bible is true and the prophecies are unfolding as we speak, if anyone should know that it would be a UK resident, the revived Roman Empire as mentioned in the bible ,in the book of Daniel is rearing it's head through the mask of unification, A one world Gov't is developing as 15 or more European countries have come under one currancy, one Gov't, I believe military and much more.
I have not researched much lately in the recent events of this ,but I will ASAP research the most recent status of this prophecy ,
In regards to the mark of the beast, what better mask to hide behind then the Tracking and identification purposes, even the military are using implanted chips in the right hand and if tampered with they release a poison into the blood stream ,more later ,got to run

You can take /any/ event in history and make it so it looks like a 'mark of the beast'. It's been done before, again and again. I could, if I had the ambition and time, find a way to make the founding of America a 'mark of the beast'. I could probably show how copyright laws are a 'mark of the beast'.

IMHO, there's far to much overreaction to this and not enough paying attention to what /is/ important--living out God's Will for our lives.

This kind of thing makes me cringe. While I don't necessarily agree with the finger print deal, I certainly don't view it as the mark of the beast. It is like people who think global tolerance and peace between all races, religions, and sexes is the mark of the anitichrist. Please.

That is true but we must be prepared to give an answer for what we believe and study to show our selves approved as a workman who need not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth 2Tim 2:15
Seeking his will is most important but not more then preaching his word and relating the prophecy to modern day times as we are to be aware of the signs, am I alone on this ,i hope not

Let us look at the verse in Revelations 19:19-21 NKJ :
19And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

verse 19 talks about a war. What type of war? Jesus has already answered:

"Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” John 18:36

its a spiritual war: See Ephesians 6

The concept of premillenialism gives Satan more power than than the Bible gives him. See the Book of Job.

verse 20 talks about the mark of the beast and false prophets. This is something that has happened everyday and since the beginning of Christianity. The mark of the beast is Worldliness not an Antichrist or any other figure. there has been and will be antichrists and worldliness 1 John 2:15-23. Notice that the main point of that verse is that both the followers and the leaders of worldiness or false doctrines will face the consequences of their actions.

the last verse is just a metaphor for God's Word (the sword Hebrews 4:12) and the birds hearken back to the 17th verse of this chapter that uses birds to mean heavenly beings and the idea of supping ties back to the idea of the fruits of people. Matthew 7

Of course this wont prove anything another than my intrepretation differs. The idea of "signs" flies in the face of the idea "coming like a thief in the night." Jesus' talk of signs just shows that things will continue on as they always have. Other than the 2nd coming i dont believe that any other prophecy lay unfulfilled. History in my eyes has filled all of them in Revelation in under a century.

Identity technology should be looked at with a questioning eye. Especially since it is so easily hacked. The idea of a single world government is a nice ideal but only that. Besides, one of the main points found throughout the NT and OT is that no physical kingdom can compare to the ideal spiritual.

jim morrison said in a song that the future is not certian and the end is always near. now me i think that there are those out there with much cash and power who are trying to put prophcy into motion and have been for a long time now, however, whether or not they are able to pull it off or not f--k it and let them do what they want cause me i am just going to keep on living the best way i can no matter what. don't let these things bother you. from a religious standpoint, i think it is important to live life how you see fit. if you think these things are the mark of the beast, don't go along with it, find another way to live with out the system. besides maybe it would inspire others to buck against the system and in turn thwart the plans of these men who hide behind religion.

I find it amusing that when the social security cards and birth certificates were first instigated that they were decried as "the mark of the beast".
No one seems to have a problem with them now ;)

I've always found dooms-day predictions interesting. I especally love counting them down and getting a chuckle when they don't happin. Y2K anyone?:biglaugh:

Maybe man is the beast. After all we are animals and we mark time, exes on the calendar. The Mark of the Beast is a metaphor. The fingerprint scanning is a good way to protect yourself. Since noone else has a match to yours noone can use your checks or credit card. Everything comes to an end. I don't buy into the end times theories.
