I think there are enough things in life that separate people from one another.Religion being one of the top offenders. Why split things up even more?

Umm, for all of you who voted no, how on earth do you think all the denominations and different religions came about? Someone had to start those!

Of course...if you believe in divine revelation, it changes that a wee bit. That would mean that someone didn't just go out and start making everything up just to start running their own sect.

IMHO

It depends. If you want to serve Christ to the ultimate, His Church is the only place to do that.

If you want serve yourself, go ahead, we already have thousands of "Popes" out there what is another?

You're the one that has to stand before your Creator and answer.

Many did, many are and many will. Does that make it correct or "okay" to do? That logic has a horrendous end. That makes all actions relative to what men have done without any standards or benchmarks to guide the way, elimenating right and wrong, good and evil and any absolutes whatsoever.

I would encourage you to create your Carthadoxy if you feel that is the truth of your spirit. Some of today's most popular religions were founded based on a contradiction of beliefs. Just look at Luther and Calvin. A large poriton of the world is Protestant because of such figures.

For example. I am Catholic. Due to my love of history, I found Buddhism, but instead of denouncing one and accepting the other, I enriched my Catholic Faith with some of the Buddha's teachings. Thus forming Buddho-Christianity. Always keep in mind that it is okay and sometimes even benefitial to integrating your faith with other religions.

I too several years ago wanted to create my own religion. MY sister and I both did. Similar to a non-denomination type of thing. But instead, after being confirmed, I felt a renewed sense of meaning in Catholicism. And I was not one for believing in superstitions and God entering people through some blessed oils or whatever, but I will say that I felt the most unbelievable joy and happiness when I was confirmed.

The Christian faith was established by God, if you accept the revelation that Christ is God. He established a Church made up of a clear structure and succession of bishops which can be traced down to our current age. Why not just embrace that faith, rather than develop your own? It may not always tell you what you want to hear, nor may it satisfy all of your earthly longings, but it has preserved the true faith as Christ established it.

This would be much better. We already have too much fragementation, dissension, and disunity. The more man-made faiths the worse.

Thanks for all of the replies, and i have some things to note. First, the name and some of the beliefs were tweaked a little, and i have a website on the religion, I also would like to note that i didn't just think of this just to do it. it just sort of came to me, and its not hurting anyone by creating this new sect. Im not trying to make money, or be in power, im just trying to enrich my life and the life of others in my lifetime. Also, i only aked if it was okay because some people are too critical.

I don't believe its ok, now that you ask. I don't believe that what the different denominations of "Christianity" are doing is biblical. They were called simply Christians in Acts, and the Bible tells us how we should live our lives.

Not saying that your sect is the one, but what do you think about the one world religion, created by men that will persecute the Christians during the tribulation? Many of the denominations we have today are created by men and not all preach salvation by grace alone through Jesus Christ, and the bible WARNS us to beware the traditions of men.

huh? Uh, what was that about persecuting Christians? The religion is a sect of Christianity, thats teaching to practice your religion.

After posting my last post about not sure of what kind of Christianity i was, i did some research. There was a religous group called the Cathars who believed the same thing. I then put together my own type of beliefs that im calling Catharadox, mainly because they had the same belief, but i still follow Jesus and God. Is it okay for me to do this?
:tsk: It's ok to do so according to the laws given to us in the constitution;however, I suggest you follow the instructions in the bible, there are many commandments given that lead us in the way ever lasting. Consider all the things Jesus says in his ministry and observe the actions of the apostles in the book of acts and then closely observe the teachings of Paul.
There are so many versions of christianity to day one new one will just add to all the confusion already in the world.

This question is going to come off sounding holier-than-thou and naive, but here goes:
"What's wrong with Christ's form of Christianity?"

Your original question was this:
Is it OK for me to start my own form of Christianity?

If you really analyze that question, you see two words that just don't jive with the concept of Christianity: "my" and "own." Christianity does not belong to one individual. Christianity belongs to the Body of Christ -- the ecclesia.

One comes to Christ through the community. In most "legitimate" (if one can use that term) Christian bodies, there is an authenticity and continuity of theology and basic practice that can be traced to the followers of Jesus. That's what we call "The Apostles' teaching," or the "apostolic faith." Even though it was developed by the apostles and early followers, and has changed and been adapted to modern humanity's needs, it's still considered to be the purest form of Christianity -- Christ's Christianity.

One has to remember that one does not live in one's own world. One lives in God's world, so , in a real sense, one has to approach belief on God's terms, and bend one's will to God's will.

There is but one pure consciousness, one power and one medium that we all use. This medium is in one God that creates many manifestations. Multiplicity comes from unity without breaking up the one true God or Whole because everything is in God. At first we are ignorant of this and misuse our power, consequently binging on ourselves misfortune and negation. Liberation and repression, sickness and health, poverty and wealth, heaven and hell, good and bad, happiness and misery, peace and panic appear to be opposites, but they are only the result of opposing forces, the forces that lead us to the one power or God. These forces teach us how to live and how to think so we can be happy in unity. Man already has this ability to be at peace, but first he must realize his relation to the Whole, a relationship with God in complete unity.
