Not trying to get away from you fine folks. I'm just feeling a little adventurous.

So, I have my car and my imagination to have myself a road trip in a couple weeks. Sadly, only the car has been working well in this opportunity. I need your help with ideas for what all I could do for some solitary MysticSang'ha time.

Here are a few ideas that I had to cross out simply because they weren't do-able:

1) Drive to Mars. Not enough gas money.
2) Take off permanently to Vegas. I still need to feign responsibility with my family and my job unless they kick me out for good.
3) Let down my long hair for my prince to climb and to rescue me from captivity in the tower. My hair isn't THAT long, and him climbing it would really hurt my scalp.

So, I tried not too long ago to get in my car, bounce up and down in the driver's seat, and yell "VRRROOOOOOOMMMM!!!" Unfortunately, when I opened the door, I was still at my house. I came to the realization (all that meditation seems to have helped!) that I need to actually drive my car somewhere in order to take a road trip.

Honestly, I haven't taken a road trip in over 10 years. I need some help, y'all!! :trampo:

Starting point is in southern Illinois.

My house by way of Indy 500 and Indy Zoo and Indy Children's Museum, James Dean's birthplace and the huge state park right by my house. Then you can go on to South Bend and see Notre Dame and then into Southwestern Michigan for some beach and shopping time (casinos, too).

Directions to mball's house: Drive east until you hit Baltimore. Drive around with your head out the window, yelling "MBALL!" until I answer. Buy mball a beer.

Let me know when you'll be in Chicago.

You know, a friend of mine just took a job out in Baltimore, and I've mentioned to him that after he moves out there that it's another reason for me to come visit him.

At least you're not recommending that I stick my head out the window and yell "GIRLY MAN!!!" ;)

Antelope Island, Utah (yes, you can take your car in there).

Wow! I just googled it.

Looks stunning........hopefully someday if I give myself more time I'll make my way out there.

The thing is, if I drive out to Utah, I have to find myself stopping off in Colorado at Phil's. If I do, I'm afraid that I'll fall in love too quickly with Mrs. Tiffany Latex and forget my road trip.

Just tried it. I wound up at the supermarket parking lot.

So I went inside and bought myself a cantaloupe. Want a slice?

I had a genius idea, that you could come take a road trip to see me. I even went to go get directions. However they kept breaking and saying it was impossible :(

You'll have to let me know if you ever do make it to these parts.

Another way to do it would be to go around asking everyone "Have you seen my mball?". ;)

If I could - seriously - take a trip around the world to see the sights and to meet y'all and to enjoy giving everyone my Big Squishy Hugs over and over again, I would do it in a heartbeat.

But here are my provisions:
-- RF members will fund my trip and offer room and board wherever I go
-- I'd have to step down as admin for a bit to go on a hiatus for several months to meet everyone.........and I like my position of power quite a bit because it strokes my ego enormously, so I'll have to be convinced that the trip would be worth it. :p

I guess at each stop, give me money, nubile and lovely babes, booze and fine wine to go along with elaborate feasts, and several hot young studs to keep me company while I'm getting to know you.

I'll play dress-up as an ancient goddess. :trampo:

Ummmm, maybe Steve and I can host a huge party at our place outside of my road trip and invite the world?

Thoughts?

Trip is planned. Yay!

I will be enjoying various wineries in the midwest and the food and the sights that usually accompany them. I'm soooo looking forward to some solitude and some peace and quiet. :bounce

If I find the urge and the opportunity, I'll check in and say hi. Otherwise, I'll be back refreshed and with pics to share. :D

Love you!!! :hugehug:

[singing]Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya! Tomorrow! You're only a day away....[/singing]

This is so cool. Heather's is going to have some awesome shopping times. And one of the wineries I'm visiting is also a brewery, so I'm fixing to sample a couple of their beer line, too.

And Steve has been wonderful enough to hand me the credit card. He gave me a limit, though. *tee hee, he knows me well*

Now, it's off to pack my bags. Here's a sample of what I hope to immerse myself in:
Winery Lake of the Ozarks : Seven Springs Winery

Violet.
That's really great Heather!

I never realized years back how important alone time is,
and setting out on your own from time to time.

It seems my vacation this summer will be family members
(who want to get out of the city)
coming to enjoy my house in the country
while taking charge of the house and the kids and the cooking
so I can go down in my basement
make my music demo undisturbed,

then drive around by myself, looking my best,
bringing my CD's all around the area....

all the while knowing my kids are having fun with cousins and aunts and uncles
swimming and playing...
SO I DO NOT HAVE TO FEEL GUILTY.

And I can actually enjoy my-self. :rainbow1:

(at least this is the plan.)

Anyway, have a really great time!
You will be in my thoughts.

Why not travel to Nauvoo and see the Mormon sights there, since you're already near there MS ???

Nauvoo Pageant

The Nauvoo Pageant celebrates the legacy of early Latter-day Saints whose faith brought them to a swampy bend of the Mississippi River, July 11 thru August 8. Narrated by Parley P. Pratt, the pageant emphasizes the prophetic mission of Joseph Smith and honors the sacrifice, faith, and courage of the Saints who gave their all to build a city and a temple. The pageant is filled with authentic hymns and folksongs, lively dances, and tender moments that share the joy these early Saints found. Through words taken from journals, sermons, and historic records of the period, the pageant invites all to feel the powerful testimonies of these faithful Saints. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday nights at 8:45 p.m. Pre-show activities begin at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Well, it fits in with your road trip time frame... ;)
