I'm voting Republican.

I guess I'm going to have a minority opinion here, but I disagree that it's about the issues at all. There is no discussion of issues.

Stuff like this is where voter apathy comes from. This happens from all sides. It's no wonder political discourse has all but vanished. Making others look stupid is much more fun.

Just about every one of them. I want drugs tested and food labeled properly. Don't you believe this video was exaggerated?
I imagine so, but from what I've read here it didn't seem too different to some of the comments.

You picked the two least controversial issues, what about the rest of it?

I would be glad to comment on anything you like, have a certain subject in mind?

I'm just looking to understand the average conservative American mindset really, I re-watched the video and noted down the things I understood enough about to ask your opinion on, so just a yes or no to these would be good;

Support for large conglomerates even if it means small businesses are lost i.e. survival of the fittest.

Big businesses should be protected.

Allowing women the right to choose whether or not to have an abortion is a good thing.

Preserving the environment is less important than maintaining a thriving a fossil fuel based economy.

You'd prefer a conservative majority in powerful positions.

Gay marriage should be illegal.

Businesses should not pay to clean up their own pollution.

Being ultra-rich is good.

America has the right and duty to police the world, and secure its own interests abroad through force if necessary.

NO

NO

A good thing? NO. Your right, YES
Preserving the environment is less important than maintaining a thriving a fossil fuel based economy.
I believe we can drill AND protect the environment. We need to find alternative energy AND more oil.
You'd prefer a conservative majority in powerful positions.
You got me there! :D
Gay marriage should be illegal.
Civil unions should be legal! Before you behead me, I hold the same opinion that your Messiah Obama does.
Businesses should not pay to clean up their own pollution.
False, I believe in being responsible.
Being ultra-rich is good.
Just as being ultra-poor is bad.
America has the right and duty to police the world, and secure its own interests abroad through force if necessary.
No, congress must make that decision and should reflect the views of the people who elect them.

What a dumb video.

edit: Enhanced even more so by the attempt to talk about the conservative majority of the Supreme Court. You can only shake your head, laugh...and then be worried at the knee jerk crap people base their political values on.

He's not my Messiah.

However, your answers do raise the question: Why are you voting Republican if you disagree with them on so many issues?

Because I am a conservative first and foremost.
I believe a government that governs least governs best.
I believe both parties spend money like drunken sailors.
I want my borders enforced and let more people come here legally.
I'm ready to compromise on abortion during the first trimester.
I'm really tired of arguing with gays about marriage, let anyone get married ***.
I want the second amendment settled and have a national gun law instead of all these different rules city to city and state to state. I want to be able to carry a gun anywhere I like with exceptions like airplanes and then I want a competant person armed there as well.

I want to kill Osama Bin Laden, get Iraq to settle their political differences and reduce our presence there to one military base with one company of men rotating every 3 months.

I want to straighten Iran out. Get rid of your nuclear ambitions or we will remove them with bunker buster mini nukes but no troops in Iran. I'm ready for diplomacy with push button consequences.

I'm ready to protect the American worker and cancel our agreements with NAFTA and China.

I want all religions included in America not the removal of all signs of religion.

I want to preach a message of tolerance to Conservatives and Liberals

Lets all live and let live and quit worrying about what the other person is doing so long as it does not affect you personally.

We have freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. If you don't like my nativity scene tough! I don't like your thumper stereos either but we must all live together.

I want people to work hard and pay for their own stuff and quit whining about what the other guy has.

I want the other guy to be able to find a job that will provide him with stuff he is envious of.

I want folks to realise that we have equal opportunity not equal stuff.

I would like to see racists hanged in the market place.

I would use the death penalty, but release all the non violent drug offenders from prison so long as they did not sell to school children.

I would make pot legal to grow and smoke in the privacy of your own home.

I would build more soup kitchens and shelters and reduce the amount of social programs for able bodied people.

I would give the extra money to the sick and elderly.

People would recieve double tax breaks for donations to the poor. Give half your income and pay no taxes!

College would not be paid for until you quit going to school and found a job.

Smoke

Done here.
I want the second amendment settled and have a national gun law instead of all these different rules city to city and state to state. I want to be able to carry a gun anywhere I like with exceptions like airplanes and then I want a competant person armed there as well.
That's not likely to happen no matter who you vote for.

I want to straighten Iran out. Get rid of your nuclear ambitions or we will remove them with bunker buster mini nukes but no troops in Iran. I'm ready for diplomacy with push button consequences.
Sounds like a good reason to vote Republican.

With the exception of those two points, everything on your list sounds like a reason not to vote Republican. Even your being a conservative. The neo-cons in charge of your party are not conservative.

No, Republicans fundamentally believe in "free-market" enterprise.

A "free-market" will have no regulation, and no regulation means that drugs being tested and food labeled properly would not be on a company's #1 issue.

Hence, upton sinclair's novel "The Jungle" sparked regulation in companies... well also Free-Market caused the Great Depression.
