Black and White

Nothing is black or white. I wish the world was that simple, but it just isn't. The world is complex and is in "shades of gray".

I personally like life in "terms of" black & white
(but, I'm sure, not for the reasons/in the way you meant it).

I think black and white is easier but how much of your individuality and freedom do you have to give up and it leaves no room for case by case situations striping us of our compassion and humanity.

If it is the case that things are true and false then there can be no such thing as shades of grey.

I believe that shades of grey are the result of our inability to directly perceive the world. Our perception is grey but the world is black and white.

Another way to look at it: Everything may seem blurred to you because your perspective is limited. However, if you could see the world from God's perspective, your view would be crystal clear.

I agree with ThePhoenixSisters. If we're going to use colors as metaphors for looking at the world, I think we're limiting ourselves by restricting the spectrum to black, white and shades of gray. The world is very dynamic, and although things are simpler in black and white, even shades of gray are too simple. I mean, in the broad spectrum of human behavior, we have actions which are ethical, morally-permissible, unethical, prudent, imprudent, polite, rude, illogical, logical, traditional, unconventional.... lawful good, lawful neutral, lawful evil, neutral good, neutral, neutral evil, chaotic good, chaotic neutral, chaotic evil (*looks for other nerds*)… :rainbow1:

Perhaps the world is made up of shades of black and white. :D

We have a winner...

(Not that it was a contest; just meaning, this sort of thinking I can agree whole-heartedly with. :D)

I don't think everything boils down to opinions and POV's. In fact, upon catching sight of the really big, bigger picture, opinions and Points-Of-View are the least important and influential things. Certainly they have no bearing upon truth, ultimately.

There is good and there is evil, certainly. But this world was made the way it is by Grey Men with no sense of duty to truth, reality or Man. 16 Shades of Grey there are, and this world is all of them and none.

Their intent was to sully the Good and virtuous with the Dark and wanton, and they have succeeded. They called this "perfecting that which was left imperfect", meaning not Nature (their divinity) but Man himself.

So I say to you that there is good and there is the Light, and there is evil and there is Darkness. The Grey world is a lie, @ least the other two are of the truth, and real.

A man who faces evil, stands in Darkness, can come to see the Light. But the Grey men are afraid, cowardly, weak - they hide from their own evil behind Laws and Rights and ties that bind all to ignorance. But they cannot run forever...
