Do you believe in reincarnation?

Part of the Consciousness that inhabited a body for a while can potentially find itself in a body again. But as far as an individual human returning to live another life in another body… no.

There is reincarnation becuase there is not a continous supply of souls. Originally there were 600,000 souls that made up the soul of the first man Adam Rishon. So you see actually we are all parts of the same of soul though we feel ourselves as individual parts. This is because each individual part of the soul needs to be corrected.

Anyway back to re-incarnation: there is re-incarnation because if we don't correct ourselves (Reverse the desire to recieve in order to recieve in order to change this into alturism. To recieve in order to bestow. This is what I mean by correction.) then we will have to keep coming back untill we do correct it.

"How the hell does this person know this ?"

"How the hell can this person make such seemingly presumptious statements ?"

"How the hell can he talk about things like re-incarnation so definitely ?"

Well you don't have to take my word for it: "Come taste see that the Creator is good."

So heres your invite to come and see him: www.kabbalah.info You can find out for yourself if you want to see God whilst still living in this earth then all you need do is go to the link.

These statements I agree with, and yes I believe in reincarnation.

Wow... once God was confined to one book.... and now It is confined to one website! Woo hoo! We humans are so advanced in linguistically and spiritually that we can condense God to fit It into cyberspace so EVERYONE can come see! Yay!

NO, i dont belive in it. Why would you reincarnate, to do it all over again? It just doesnt add up in the sense of a religious standpoint. You should look forwarding to dieing not looking forward to die and come back. Its like a continue in a computer game.

I don't think reincarnation makes much sense - who I am is dependent on my memories and the way my brain works, and neither gets passed on in reincarnation, so it can't really be 'me' that is coming back. Not to mention that I inherit traits from my parents; reincarnation would mean that I am a stranger to them. And so on...

But it would be very convenient from a moral point of view - imagine if you didn't know where you would come back to. You could die, and be born again in some slum in Dhaka or in the middle of a warzone. That would give people a great incentive to make sure there was peace and prosperity everywhere, not just where they lived at the moment.

I'm not sure where I stand on this issue, actually. I believe in reincarnation. Atleast I think I do. I haven't actually sat down and thought about it and settled into the WHY or the HOW, but there is too much for me not to believe it.

I believe in past lives and that people can get visions of these, or just have strong feelings or memories you can't account for that could be attributed to a past life.

And when people seem to have what is called an "old soul"... some people are wise beyond their years and experience and it could account for that.

Also, don't laugh, but even when I was young I had a strange but strong connection to Lizzy Bordon and Emily Dickinson... I'm not saying I was these people, but there is something that connects me to them, and there is no explanation for it in this life. No laughing.

But I'm not sure every soul returns. I think there must be a choice. And I'm not sure of the criteria that causes a soul to return - whether it hasn't learned enough or whatever. And I'm also not certain where the souls go in between the time they are here and when they come back. Pagans call it the Summerland, a sort of Rest Stop for the soul.

And if they do stop coming back after they have learned enough, where do they go? I don't believe in God, so I don't believe they go to meet God. Do they dissipate, as energy does? But that would seem pointless.

Anyway, I'm rambling, but had to add my two cents.

I believe in samsare....or the wheel of life as the Celts called it....one dies..one is reborn..until it is time to leave the wheel

E=MC squared

energy = matter multiplied by the speed of light squared

energy=matter

energy cannot die....

You are immortal

"And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes my fear begins to fade recalling all of the times I have died and will die. It's all right. I don't mind. I am too connected to you to slip away, to fade away. Days away I still feel you touching me, changing me, and considerately killing me. " (TOOL 'H')

"This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember. we are eternal.
all this pain is an illusion." (TOOL 'parabola')

 What is Samsara?
Apologies to any hindus...please correct me....

The Journey of the "soul/SPirit"...which takes many lives....from the beginning to the end...the end being a return to the beginning..as all things end at the beginning....

The swastika is a symbol od samsara....

Why do we die and are reborn?....but it takes many lives to learn to BE.....

No I am not hindu..lol
 I'm just babbling...

Samsara = continuity (or cycle) of existence, the chain of rebirths.

The swastika has many meanings, and it is found in many parts of the world. On the Isle of Man there is a gigantic mine pump wheel, adorned with a swastika. You find it in the Mediterranean area, in China and in Japan. I have seen it on Indonesian bottles of soy sauce. In the Americas, it is found especially in the Maya and Navajo cultures.

The oldest occurrences are in the Indus Valley, so it is probable that it spread from there to other parts of Asia.

It is known as a lucky symbol, but no one knows exactly what it might mean. In Hinduism, it is first and foremost a symbol of the God Shiva. It might be a symbol of his powers which uphold the universe (the four arms reach the four corners of the world.) Another interpretation is that it symbolises eternal rotation and the self-renewing powers of Nature.

Greetings! :)

No, I don't: I'm a Bahai', and the Baha'i scriptures explicitly reject reincarnation and go on to explain in detail why.

Anyone who's interested can read this explanation by visiting www.bahai-library.org and following the links Baha'i Writings / 'Abdu'l-Baha / Some Answered Questions.

Peace,

Hi Colin,

You don't have to 'do it all again' - that's the point (As long as you learned the lesson you had to learn). Each life is -I believe- devoted to learning a specific aspect of enlightenment.

Alaric -your brain is the 'flash drive' to your computer hard drive; but you are not able to access the hard drive during your lifetime - that would make things too easy, because you would be tempted to 'cheat' if you knew the purpose of anyone particular lifetime. Your body is only a vehicle for your soul through each life; you were a stranger to your parents until you were born - what difference does that make?

Some believe that reincarnation includes some sort of continuity with 'fellow souls' - ie that you could well know someone in this lifetime to whom you have been attached previously.:)

That is some of the most dangerous thinking around. It's how suicide bombers rationlise what they do.

I do not believe in reincarnation. I believe once we die that's it. No soul, no after life, just decomposition and the circle of life sort of deal.

Of course I do, when my ashes are spread across a forest floor somewhere, I will manifest myself in the soil reincarnating into a tree or flower even and therefore becoming a part of the living force.

Yes I do believe in reincarnation. The reason is because we are here to learn. We do not learn all of our lessons within one lifetime. It takes time. Therefore, when we die, we go to the spirit world or heaven. We reflect on our accomplishments and setbacks. We then decide when we are going to come back. When we are born our purpose it to learn again another lesson or the one we failed to learn the last time. We must get it right before we stop reincarnating.

This is a great reply, and I agree totally, but what happens when we get it right? My son said to my husband once when he was very young "Daddy, do you remember when I was the Daddy and you were the son?". That made us think!
