Question Everything
I will not be in heaven when I die.

Is this a religious belief, or are you afraid of something from your past?

And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

I want to say this to a post that was made earlier in this thread. Loving each other, and just doing good deeds, is not enough to get us to Heaven.
Jesus appears to disagree with you.

God is love.

Whoever loves IS of God.

Adding additional rules is not necessary.

When I die I won't be anywhere. My belief is that when I die everything about me will cease to exist.

Hello scotty...can I call you scotty???

It looks like you have taken offense to my inability to put on a false sense of insecurity so that you would feel more enlightenend.

The first thing religious people do is put on an heir of supperiority when it comes to the things of God.

I have no religion, and i will stick up for no church. I am the church the last time i read the bible.

So, there could be three billion people that think different to me, wouldnt make the slightest amount of difference to me.

As long as you believe what you teach scott, thats all that matters. Since if you believe it, you will live your truth.

Many talk the talk but dont walk the walk. People preach that God is love, but they wont tell the truth even if it hurst. The truth will set you free but first it will p*ss you off.

Im dissatisfied with the wishy washy pathetic and frankly warped image that religion has created for God.

You know who god will hold accountable for all the nonsense that churches preach around the world? The people that listen to it.

As far as heaven is concerned, the marriage of the century is still in the pipeline, moving into a new home called heaven, meeting moses, david, samson, adam and eve....seeing jesus, wizzing between one place in the universe to another.

Dont you just love not being religious. It makes life so much more fun.

Love

Yoda, Obi wan, type of thing? your body just - "poof" disappears? All memories anyone else has of you "poof" are gone? We are all part of something eternal. The effects of what we do now will forever be around...

If you do not believe we have a “spirit”, what is the difference between a body that is alive and one that has recently deceased? What energy or force makes something alive?

don't blame the church - religion, like life, is what you make of it. What to one person is a boring sermon to another is better than a rollercoaster ride. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder :) a church is not such a bad place to be if you recognize others there are all at a different place in their life and don't expect too much from them... or see too little in them... Everyone has a bit of majesty in them if you know how to find it...

Wow... that's a mouthful...... no offense taken.
The first thing religious people do is put on an heir of supperiority when it comes to the things of God.
For instance claiming a unique knowledge that is far beyond mere mortals and telling people that they are not going to heaven.... that kind of "supperiority"? :cover:
I have no religion, and i will stick up for no church. I am the church the last time i read the bible.
Why do you read the Bible? Why limit yourself to a set canon that was established by a religion... why not read all the books of the period.... why are you shackled to orthodoxy when it comes to the Bible but nothing else? Seems a little fake to me.
Im dissatisfied with the wishy washy pathetic and frankly warped image that religion has created for God.
I'm looking forward to reading your solutions to this problem... I'm sure you're not just going to preach and whine about the errors of "religion" and not give us the gift of your wisdom.
Dont you just love not being religious. It makes life so much more fun.
Being "religious" means having a relationship with God (you can look up the root of the word if dictionaries are not part of the "conspiracy") so I would say that you appear to be quite religious.

Looking forward to hearing your answers.

It's not my rules, it, Gods Better read it for yourself. I don't expect anyone to take my word..Just being a good moral person is not enough..If you don't accept Jesus......You will not enter in to Heaven........Sorry to disappoint you. But that is how it is......

You have read too much INTO the scriptures. Reading them from your perspective, rather than from the Spirit's perspective.

Consider this:

Matthew 25:37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' 40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' NIV

There is no mention of what you consider to be paramount.

Now consider this:

Matthew 12:7 If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent. NIV

Actions speak louder than words BECAUSE they come out of your heart.

Love is the real answer.

Just cruious - looking at your life, combined with your beliefs, do you think you will go to heaven when you die? If so, what degree of heaven do you see yourself in? By degree I mean - star, moon, or sun type glories:

1 Cor 15:
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead.

Just curious...
I am already well past the sun, hence my religion is titled, "Beyond the Light". Frankly, I have my sights set much higher than "Heaven" as it is generally conceived. On this note, ScubaPete is dead on. Some of us already exist in Heaven (on Earth); as it should be.

Maybe you aren't reading enough into the scriptures.....There are allowances for people who are unable to understand the Bible and for children until they reach the age of accountability.....Are you going to Just take the scriptures that says God is love just throw away the parts with the conditions.....There are conditions to God's word......If we endure to the end, If we accept Jesus,We can have eternal life, but there are conditions we must meet. We must be doers of the word, not just hearers.

If we didn't need to accept Jesus what was the point of God sending him to dwell on this earth and then die for our sins? Do you think we are saved just to sit down and do nothing? What does it mean to be Christ like? Do you think Jesus just sat there. No he was out teaching and doing the will of His father....

Ummmm I'm not the one who proclaimed with authority: "If you don't accept Jesus......You will not enter in to Heaven........Sorry to disappoint you. But that is how it is...... "

These "allowances" for people who are unable to understand the Bible... can you give me Chapter/Verse on that please.

Who DIDN'T Jesus die for then? Are you telling me that there are exclusions?
Hehe....I think you're missing the point.... it's not the saving work of Christ that gets a person their "ticket to heaven"..... it is a persons own actions in their "acceptance" of Jesus that apparently saves.

We've got it wrong all this time Pete. :(

Not of works, lest any man should boast.
