:hi: Do you do a lot of magic? I ve been thinking about being a wiccan or at least a pagan (like the philosophy  ), though I m still a bit lost], but wandering about looking for magic rituals and stuff, I found out it was pretty complicated or you have to be initiated or something like that. The thing is, I live in Paris (that is a big city), and I don t know anything about plants, nor about incense, nor about stones, and I don t know any wiccan, and I don t have much time, so this all is not very practical, I must say...
And I wonder... Hum... What is the God and Goddess story? Is it very important to you, or is it just about the philosophy?cheers!!

someone mentioned it, no need to be on edge

I perform Magick (yes i just trip all over myself to get chances to spell things with the extra 'K') and will be the first to say that i have never cast a spell. I work within the meta-paradigm of Chaoism, and would avidly advise anyone looking at expanding their Magickal vocabulary/knowledge/general accumen to pick up Phil Hine's Condensed Chaos. I do not recruit, tho I have by accident once, and have never tried to. But that book is outstanding and quite horizon broadening.
As for the qquestion, I would have to say: because it makes me happy to do so. I love the chase, so to speak, and the journey has been long and strange for me, though I will not say spiritual.
For me it has been about liberation from conventional belief (please do not interperet this as me saying I have a Divine Carte Blanche, I catch enough of this already. In fact, I consider myself highly honorable, though at times more than a little amoral.) and trying to find out 'who I was'. What I found out was that I would never understand myself, and the best part of a journey is the trip itself. The destination may be great, but weren't you really just trying to get away?
To sum it up: The sprint to heaven would not be worth anything if you didn't have all Hell breathing down your neck the last 50 yards.

magick magic smagic...yes magic is different to magick...blame crowley...magick with a K is a habit..yet I have nere ready any crowley...go fig!

I do magic (controlled use of imagination.....magic:from the word magister..to master)...as I need to.....like passing water...breathing and sleep......

and other reasons....

I apologise if I got snappy...I never meant it.........

I dont think I am religious any more..I have decided......religion requires clubs...I cant stand clubs.....

who knows

[align=center:0d69dbff23]I am a wiccan and follow the belief of wicca for many years. I believe in the idea of new age religion to fitt with the world around me. I practice my own form of magick through meditation and chants. I take ideas from the egyptians, celts, greeks, romans and asian beliefs into my own. Magick to me is the natural and super natural enviroment in which you bring both together in harmony. I guess that is it. I am pretty powerfull with magick. Know it only takes me on chant to get what I want down such as a peacefull harmony for myself to lose stress. I became very powerfull in helping my soul regain it's strength over the years of being sick when I was younger.[/align:0d69dbff23]

Why do I do magick?

Magick is the feeling you get when the wind blows across your cheek. Magick is the miracle of new life in the newly thawed fields. Magick is the glory of the sunrise of a new day.

All of these bring feelings worth more than the inherent action. That is why I do magick. To bring more into the world through action instead of sitting around a fire and chatting about doing something one day or lamenting about "the good ol' days". Magick is inherent in everything we do from kissing the bump on our toddler's head, to superstition, to praying to deity. It is part of what makes us human. To deny magick is to deny part of ourselves and our destiny. Now people can call it what they will be it faith, prayer, self-belief but it is still magick.

I do magic. Why? Because I want to. Because it's an art form that I want to learn. Because I love the feel of power and energy flowing through me. Because I love it.

My definition of magic is the altering of something in the physical world with the use of ones mind.
