What to do in Heaven?

Charity

Let's go racing boys !
Heaven could still be quite a sad place, if you were separated from family members who didn't make it. Is your god going to give you amnesia to forget them?
The Bible teaches that the former things are passed away....Heaven is a place of joy and ever lasting peace....There will be no sorrow, no tears, no sadness, no worries. So therefore we won't know or worry about who made it or not.. We will rejoice with the ones who did make it.

No amnesia either, the bible teaches no sickness, ....:bounce:woohoo::clap2:
no pain, no suffering and (and no more debates);)

Not a problem. So, are you saying that you do not believe in a physical place called "Heaven?"

I do believe in an afterlife but I believe what people call heaven may be a state of mind rather than a place. I don't really know for sure-- I am never 100% sure on anything to be truthful.

I agree.

I have been looking of the a verse for the last 20 minutes and i can't find it. it says:

" The things not seen by your eyes, not heard by your ears, and not desired by your hearts" are the things that my father prepared for you was what Christ said

How do you describe this then? are you familair with " extreme makeover and pimp my ride" and the participants tend to shout hysterically and say something like " i never imagined something like this."

Thats how it's going to be in heaven.

Remember, faith is the substance of things hoped for.... If people can trust MTV to make their car's look better. why can't i trust God who created everyting else, right? :D

I found it...:D

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I think it's a bit concerning that you based your idea of Heaven off a movie.

Come on cap, i was just making an analogy. you dont like me too much do you?:D
I tried to show the type of feeling, i based my idea of heaven on how a person will feel given a similar situation where you got more than you expected.:D

Proverb 18:13
He who answers before listening—
that is his folly and his shame.

I don't believe in any afterlife, but there are many "heavens" in a number of religions, which one is right? Are you using a dartboard?

meh...
OK. But what is the reason to assume that "heaven is greater than hell" and that "walking around all day looking at coulds is less than Hell?" These are major assumption and I would like to understand the reason for those assumptions.
"heaven > hell" is pretty much by definition. If Heaven is a place of eternal happiness, and hell is a place of eternal misery, given a choice, I think most people would go with happiness. If you prefer misery to happiness, by all means - shoot for hell.

I got "walking around all day looking at cloulds < hell" from you. You stated that you'd rather be in hell than walk around looking at clouds. From that I am led to believe that either you believe this inequality holds, or you are irrational. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt on the "irrational" thing :)
I mean, what I want to understand is this: What are christians aiming for? What do they foresee living in an Heavenly place would entail?
I've already answered that to the best of my ability.

If you have read the Revelation, you will see that some angels do nothing but sing "Holy, Holy, Holy..." That would be so boring.

Verses 9-11 is just as damn boring.

It would be a "living hell" being in heaven.

Why do you think Lucifer and Satan rebelled? They probably went freaking insane.

I think the benefits and retirement plan for standing around singing praises all day would far outway the benefits of working at McDonalds or Walmart.

The angels uniforms also will be much prettier.

By the way, would you like fries with that?:curtsy:

I'd rather work in McDonalds (Burger King because their chips (fries) are tastier)

This is exactly why I am asking the questions. Your post suggest that there is absolutely Nothing in Heaven. What will you do all day, then? Drink milk and sing Holy, Holy, Holy? Doesn't the concept of Hell sound more impressive (imagine "gambling" with someone as to who first will be roasted in that eternal fire!).

actually, there is nothing else to base it on. If you want to base it on the bible, that's fine. But remember, there is no difference between the bible and a movie; they are both fictitious.

Come on. . What else is there to base it on? If someone wants to base it on the bible that's fine. However, there is no difference between the bible and a movie; they are both fictitious.

OK. Let's take your first point first. "Heaven is a place of eternal happiness." Isn't this subjective? If singing holy, holy, holy all day long is happiness to me but it is not to you, then how do we determine that this really equals eternal happiness?

For your second point, your explanation is flawed. If I had stated that " I would rather not going to heaven if the only thing that you do is worship God all day" then by your argument, you would draw the conclusion that "worshiping God would not be heaven" thus "worshipping God < Hell"
