yexus: i'm sorry, i should say the true church as technically speaking their are two synonomous meanings of church: structure and members. of course the only perfect humans were Our Mother, Mary and Jesus. everyone else has fallen short of the glory of God. St. Faustina only had original sin on her soul.

Mary was without sin? Passages to support this?

No passages support that Mary is without sin. I believe the reasoning goes something like this--for Jesus to have been without sin, Mary had to be without sin; otherwise, original sin would have tainted Christ, too. Therefore, Mary, a virgin, must have been sinless, too.

I think this is flawed logic, but I would want to research the point before I said anything.

Ah, human logic. Thanks.

It was human logic that came up with the whole idea about Mary being sinless. The "immaculate conception" ensures Mary of having no original sin, thus Christ is born without original sin (of course, original sin is another fallacious conclusion wrought by frail human logic). Almost all churches are replete with imperfect logic, hence the esoteric mysteries that shroud the most important questions that mankind has. The true church makes perfect sense to one with the Holy Ghost, and is foolishness for everyone else. Intellectuals perpetuate this foolishness when they feel they have a firmer grasp of religion than a humble man of God.

There is no basis for this. All have fallen short. It is a shame that people try to put Mary on the same level as Christ.

That's not what I'm trying to do. I'm using a Catholic's line of reasoning to paint this picture. Mary was a human being like the rest of us.

There will be no debating in any of the seperate religion forums. These forums are for learning about the individual religions.

If you wish to debate a certain religion or issue take it to the general discussion/debate/or off-topic sections. ]

I am confused, how is it possible not to debate here when almost every Christian has different beliefs according to thier interpretation? it is impossible to learn anything in such a case as that seeing as how everyone can't be right and unless we do a bit of debating to ferret out the truth then it is possible that lies and error will not only continue but be compounded:

1Th 5:21
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

2Co 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

What is the sense of a forum if everyone just spouts thier own beliefs?
does this help anyone?

It's easy. Take your debates to the Religious Debate forum. This area is for learning.
