What do the christians say?

What makes a person believe? Is it the things, the feelings, or the words? But I'd like to add alos that there is the believing itself. I believe I can communicate with those like you if I know in advance what the apparently unmentionable at the dinner table is about in YOU.

What is the problem about the pluralism in the World? I reflect not on the exact words in the bible or other scriptures even. But if it comes to the freedom of speech or expression I am trapped with you. Once it was regarded that God was Love, pure and simple. But I guess people have found a broader perspective for an open mind. So I must obtusely say I have a shut mind to you.:jiggy:

What makes a person believe, again? I believe you are less an ecclectic than I, and in fact you couldn't be because of the lack of the faith in the invisible in mutually exclusive ways. "I believe ..." has come to many meaningful ways on the computer internet.

But I guess there is much to the consideration that the believing is something physical in itself. Only if God were outside space and time would it be available for anyone on the spur of the moment to FIND his act of commitment , his free choice, the possibility for the Self to be purely mental, spiritual. Do you agree?:woohoo:

Said Hitler to the jews? Because according to reverse logic, I could then say my justification for stopping you is because I don't want you to. And thus we have worked out the circular mind of the imbecile.

In other words there absolutely no real logical intelligent reason to follow christianity other than, your culture pressurised you into it.

Fear? perhaps its a failure to grasp the universe? or maybe simply that they fear death, and embrace the fragile nature of the human mind, they bow to their weaknesses.

From my experiance; people that put faith in God, loose faith in themselves.
Actually, 'You are responsible for the death of Christ, amongst other things,' said Hitler to The Jews,'And as long as I wipe you from the face of the earth in an impersonal fashion, I'm doing the God's will.' I've seen comparisons to Hitler on here before, but generally it wasn't over something as simple as,'I choose to believe because I want to make that choice.' I imagine you eat whatever for breakfast because YOU want to...do you qualify as an imbecile through your unreasoned choices of spread?
I think the point being made was that, as a child you will likely be raised in the religion of your parents. Meaning if your family is Muslim, you will be raised a Muslim, if it's Christian, you will be raised Christian. Whether you continue to follow that faith as an adult is up to you. You will find plenty of people on this forum who were raised Christian and have chosen to follow a different path when they got old enough to choose for themselves.
Faith is a matter of faith...I think you will find that faith is not necessarily based on logic. In fact, the dictionary definition of faith is 'belief without logical proof'.
Your personal experience of people who in putting faith in God lost faith in themselves: your experience must be limited...I assure you I have only come across one person in my life who has come even close to that, and that was a girl on here who said her sense of self worth was based on the fact that God loved her. My concern with that was if her faith ever failed her.I don't think you will find anyone on here with faith in their God/Goddess and none in themselves.
I don't know you, but it seems from the very first post, your intent was to have an argument with the Christian members of this forum. You denigrated them from the very start, which made it pretty obvious that you weren't that interested in what they had to say, other than to ridicule and put down their responses. I have seen plenty of debates degenerate into slanging matches, however I think this is the first that I've ever seen that issued a disclaimer that it wasn't about putting down anyone in the same breath as it put down the people it was directed at. I don't know what your issue with Christianity is and I don't know who it is that has let you down through or because of their faith, but I suggest you deal with them rather than indiscriminately trying to start something with people you don't even know.
Just as an aside:as for the locusts, you wouldn't be expecting to dig up the fosilized remains of the little buggers (if you had the merest clue about fossilization), because it takes quite specialized conditions for fossilization to occur.Without those specialized conditions it just isn't going to happen, and with locusts being organic matter as they are, they'd decompose...no locust bits to find. I think if you want to be logical about it and given the fact that you have been bludgeoning us with logic I would assume you would, if a man who's entire knowledge of the world is perhaps a 100 mile radius around his home town sees locusts for as far as his eyes can see, then that will define his definition of 'covered all the earth'. He's hardly likely to be talking about Singapore, because he doesn't even know Singapore exists.
Now, as to what Feathers was saying...apparently you have a little trouble with the language she used, so I'll give you a translation. I'm sorry I can't provide you with large print and colourful pictures (at least, not relevant ones), but I'll do my best.

You mean like mocking an entire group based on their beliefs, these individual people that you are mocking having done nothing to with the horrors you accuse them of?
You seem to be acting with just as much bigotry as you accuse their god of having.
Your reply:
Anarcho-Rebel said:
No, Im not racist, sexist, homophobic, nor do I stop anyone having their opinions. Also, I never accused God of mocking, and never stated that to be a bad quality.
She didn't say you accused their god of being mocking, she said you accused him of being a bigot. Which you did. I don't know if you realise this, but just because you are not racist , sexist or homophobic doesn't mean you are not a bigot. What you come across as is a religious bigot. You have mocked the Christian contingent on this site purely based on their beliefs. Of coure we would not expect you to state that mocking was a bad quality...you've been doing it yourself purely to try and start an argument.

I bow before these morals- no, wait! Before you accuse me of sarcasm, I should point out that my spirit animal is the unicorn, so what I'm really doing when I bow like this is lowering my head to get a better target.

A unicorn is an animal of fiction. My spirit animal is myself, I don't put faith in fairy tale creatures. And before you say anything, after admitting to supporting Racism, Sexism and other such prejudices, don't expect me to be friendly.
She didn't admit to supporting racism, sexism or , in fact, any predjudice. What she was saying was that you need a horn in the gut. Pure and simple. I congratulate you...this is the nearest I've ever seen Feathers come to saying someone should be thumped. You have truly excelled yourself when you can claim pretty much the most tolerant person on this forum as a casualty. You must be proud.

"If you hear His voice today, harden not your heart" I believe you will one day hear His voice and when you do you will fall to your knees, not in self pity but in praise and thanksgiving.

To coin a phrase....For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe, no explanation will suffice.
I have no desire to try to argue, debate or try to convince you. You will find your truth in the end, as will we all.
Blessings to you, and on that note I will leave you.

Joyfully in Jesus,
Martha

Wow! Amazing, you've managed to dwindle down the reasons for the death of 6 million people into "because i want to."
Have you actually ever read a real history text on the holocaust? You're not making it seem like you have...

See you're not getting the point. The point was, as others have explained, that many tend to follow and be raised in the faith of their parents, though it is not always the case...

Or perhaps they had an experience which led them to that faith?
Trust me even now i have no fear of death...

Then you must have a very limited experience w/ people of faith...
I think i have plenty of faith in myself and my abilities...

A better question than "What do the Christians say" would be, "Why do Christians feel the need to rise to the bait of an obvious troll". Not all Christians feel that we need to. You are not going to convert this man to reason, much less your doctrine. Let him alone to grow up a bit, and maybe he can see beyond his rhetorical nose. Instead of accusing others of ignorance, he may actually begin to see his. My dear RFers, lets please refrain from feeding the trolls.
