Tradition makes people feel obligated to do what ever others want them to do, personally I don't want to. My family was big on exchanging holiday gifts and that is all fine and well but some of the people in my family don't have a bucket to pee in and they would do well to buy one instead of giving gifts they can not afford. I think most traditions have become commercialized and poor suckers wind up maxing out their credit cards for another year instead of buying health insurance.
