What did you want to be when you grew up?

Initially, I wanted to be Madonna (think early-mid eighties). Then, I just wanted to be a rock star.

Obviously, that didn't work out. Beyond all of my unrealistic goals and expectations of myself...I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. College wasn't really for me, however. I kind of plunged into the corporate world, without a degree but have had some great experiences.

I love my job.

I had one of those in first grade! Old lady who yelled at you and sentenced you to detention for coughing loudly because she claimed you did it on purpose and other such nonsense. Half the class would be staying up to a half hour after school everyday. Parents would be lined up along the playground waiting for the kids to get out of detention. I, and the rest of the class, had detention on average of at least 3 times a week. My mom, along with the other moms, hated that woman.
That's awful Draka, I'm so sorry. But as I said, I'm not like that anymore. (hee hee).
Ps, I'm so glad to hear of your pregnancy, Congratulations! :foryou:

My earliest dream was to be an astronaut or an astronomer because I thought black holes were really cool. Then my brother made fun of me and said that I needed to be able to read and write well, and so knowing that it's not my strength, that scarred me for life.

Then I wanted to be a cartoon........and at times I still do. Usually it's after I watch some anime or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Other dream jobs included being a ninja, a rock star like Pat Benatar or the band Heart, and a sex therapist who had her own radio show.

I'm a dancer/choreographer now. Many times I try to convince myself that all my fantasies are somehow being lived out in my career. :bounce

Peace,
Mystic

I wanted to be an archeaologist, but I found out it takes forever to become one, and they don't get paid very much, so I'm just going to be a teacher.

So? What was it you dreamt of being when you grew up? Are you that now? Working towards that? Changed your mind completely? What are you now?
The very first thing I ever wanted to be (when I was four or five years old, I guess) was a trapeze artist in a circus. :D Nope, I'm not that now, nor am I working towards it! Yup, I did change my mind completely. I am now a computer programmer and systems analyst.
