Absolutely. Although, not if you want to be productive. China is essentially feeding the monster. Granted, its not like cutting off the revenue from oil is going to stop genocide, but its a good start. And its something that China has the power to do. They can get oil from other places.

The Panorama TV programme tracked down Chinese army lorries in the Sudanese province that came from a batch exported from China to Sudan in 2005. The BBC was also told that China was training fighter pilots who fly Chinese A5 Fantan fighter jets in Darfur

China is selling weapons to Sudan for oil and there's slaughtering and genocide going on in Sudan. Hummm...

Sudan is defending itself, so i don't see why it's that bad that China is selling the Sudanese some weapons.
Now, replace some words in that phrase. Change Sudan and Sudanese to Israel and Israelis, and China by the US, and tell me what you will get!
BINGO! Yes, this is what would most of people would have said if the thread was about Israel and Palestine.
Not that i'm approving what is happening there now, but this is just an example of the kind of double standards the world have to cope up with!
And of course, don't forget that i'm not referring to you by anyway, but i just used your post as an example only.

Read up on some political history. Ever since the enlightenment, nations have been justified as living as close to man's original "state of nature", i.e. anarchy. So long as nations are justified in pursuing policy, it is unfair in criticizing china, or any other nations for pursuing their own objectives.

As long as oil comes cheap from Darfur, Japan and China will likely continue to obtain oil from there. However, I'd bet that if China took a harder stance against the Sudanese, some people might get upset that China is interfering in Sudan's internal affairs.

Yes because they can use their political and economic power to help the situation instead of staying out. I guess they don't want them mad at the Chinese and start a war and send troops in. They can at least stop dealing economic deals with them.

I guess it's in the nature of the deal. One is for one purpose and the other can be used for many pyrposes. If Japan was shipping cocaine to Darfur, I would imagine that there would be a higher ratio of cocaine usage.
