I would like to learn how to pray on the Rosary...

I have printed out the prayers and have purchased a Rosary. But I have no idea about how to pray on it properly. Where do I start and where to I end? What prayers do I say in what order? Also, anything else I have missed??? Thanks in advance....:162:

Weird, I wonder if there is a block at my work. I cant seem to get those links to work? ugh.... Maybe the Lord doesnt want me to learn them....hehe : )

Wow I have a lot to learn now! I was given a rosary from a friend. Is it considered disrespectful to wear this around my neck, under my clothes? I had been wearing it around my neck, but wasnt sure if this was considered taboo?

Not at all...... its intended "function" is not as a jewlery piece..... but it's not taboo at all.

Ok, thats good to know. I know that its definately not intended as jewelry. But I always thought it was nice to keep it close to my heart. Thank you so much for your help. I have much to commit to memory now. : )

Wierd Scott, I always learned it was disrespectful to wear it around the neck. Which is why monks and nuns wear it on their habit. Hmmm... I wonder.

Alrighty, I haven't found anything that condemns the wearing of the rosary around the neck. I found some monks that do just that. So I guess it was just a superstition that I suppose I was taught and never forgot. So go ahead, display your faith!!!!

Vigil,
Thanks for checking...... I would also say that the rosary, when worn around the neck, is hidden from view...... religious (Monks, Nuns) would probably prefer to have it visible. I personally, carry a decade rosary (Just a ring of 10 beads and the crucifix) because it's easier to carry and remain visible when I just have it in my hand all the time.... it gets a lot of attention, which is (partially;) ) the point of doing it.

Hey fellas, I would love to share the reason why. I was actually raised LDS (Mormon) until I was about 12 and I stopped going to that church. I just felt in my heart something was wrong with it. Anywho, I studied a few different religions and philosophys in High School and stumbled on the faith that I practice now. It seemed like a good fit for me. Now after practicing Vaishnavism for over 10 years, I have always wanted to explore Catholicism. I was always fascinated with Catholicism, especially the story of St Francis. I have come to a dry taste in my spiritual life and am looking to "dig deeper" and explore other conceptions of spirituality. Im using this chance to explore Catholicism and learn more deeply about the life of Christ. Im very excited!

Several of my clients are Catholic churches... I had Father Gregory teach me to pray the roasary a few years ago. Why? To do, is to understand.

Hi!
There's a free CD that you can pray The Rosary along with available from the Mary Foundation here: http://www.catholicity.com/

It's also nice because you can pray along with them even as you drive...and has some other Catholic prayers on it as well that are cool. Plus a history of the rosary..

BTW you might wanna just carry that Rosary in your pocket for a couple of reasons.
1.They tend to get broken more easily when they snag on something
2. Some Catholics will take offense, even though it is not proscribed to wear it, it is not something that most Catholics will do.

We have MUCH better things to wear...Like a good crucifix or the Miraculous Medal. :)
Pax vobiscum,
