Was Satan really an angel?

I have never been able to find a verse where it states that Lucifer and Satan are one and the same. I have checked concordances, I have used the search on my ebible (E-Sword), and asked many people. I have read several different translations of the Bible but still I haven't been able to find it.
I have posted the question "Where does it say that Lucifer and Satan are the same?" on at least 10 Christian forums and my question still hasn't been answered.

Sometimes I wonder if Lucifer was even an angel. One person told me that he was the King of Babylon at one time.

Isaiah compared the King of Babylon to the planet Venus, which is the brightest "star" in the sky, as a metaphor for his glory prior to his fall.

Luficer is believed by the Church, her theologians, and exorcist to be a fallen Serephim, the highest order of angel(Of the nine choirs) and means the burning ones. He is More powerful than St Michael by rank(As Ark angels are on the lower end) however God gives Micheal the power to defeat even Satan. At least thats the faith of the Church.

Satan has always been "evil."

John 8:44 (Concordant Literal New Testament)
You are of your father, the Adversary, and the desires of your father you are wanting to do. He was a man-killer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, for truth is not in him. Whenever he may be speaking a lie, he is speaking of his own, for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Beside, Lucifer was never really use, in the original text. Lucifer being a Latin name for the planet Venus, the Morning Star.

Morning Star, Son of Morning, Son of Dawn or Lucifer, you would have to remember that Jesus was also called himself bright morning star in revelation .

Would Jesus, David and Israel (eg. the Star of David being the Morning Star) really associate themselves to ultimate evil, if Lucifer was really Christian Devil?
I find it amusing that this is always ignored by those who want to believe in a being called Lucifer.

The original Hebrew of Isaiah calls the King of Babylon Helel ben Shahar (Son of the Dawn) the Hebrew name for the point of light we know today to be the planet Venus.
When the Hebrew was translated into Septuagint Greek it became heosphoros "dawn-bearer", one of their names for the planet Venus.
Finally, when the Greek was translated into Latin it became Lucifer, the Roman God of the morning star, who later lost his influence and the planet was renamed for the Goddess Venus.

Finally, proof that Lucifer was not the name for Satan during early Christian history, or any spiritual being other than the pagan God - meet Saint Lucifer a very Christian Bishop of the fourth century. He even inspired his own followers, the Luciferians.

Not that anybody will take a blind bit of notice to any of this of course.

You can yell and scream the about association of Lucifer to Christian Satan to be wrong is flawed, but they will stick Lucifer in with the Devil together, ignoring the context of Isaiah's verse. They will also continue to ignore that the Revelation associate Lucifer with Jesus.

Revelation was purely a work of fiction, to conjecture that satan or lucifer exists from that book is the height of illogic.

Yes its a work of fiction, but millions of people believe it is the gospel truth. That is a vast energy source ready to be manipulated.

Using the term gospel truth is an oxymoron. Much of the gospels simply can't be true.

1Thes.1:[5] For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

You're using scripture to try to prove the veracity of scripture, better to have some external source as verificiation.
