If the Age of the Earth is 6000 Years...

Hard to believe anyone actually still believes that the earth is 6,000 years old, you better tell them its not flat either nor is it the center of the universe.

Liar ! :polar:

What the hell...?

Who is this polar bear?

Dammit get outta here ya dam bear!

Ever hear of the Flat Earth Society? ;)

That's why I brought it up. I saw a stand up comic the other day and he was laughing about the idea of the world being 6,000 years old he said the devil has a factory where he makes dinosaur bones and he runs around in the night hiding them to fool us into not believing in the Bible and God. Well, that old devil has me fooled.

In the Quran, however, earth's exact age has not been mentioned. Nor, does the Quran say, that Noah's flood covered the entire planet. It is written that there was a flood. And, it is also written that Earth is egg-shaped ( neither completely round nor flat).

The Earth is definitly not egg shaped.
See here [Regents Prep Earth Science] Introduction: Oblate Spheroid
Oblate SpheroidThe Earth's True Shape
The Earth is not a perfect sphere. Due to it's rotation, the Earth (like all rotating planets) has a slightly distorted shape. The rotational momentum tends to force the matter to bunch up in the middle. In the case of the Earth, this "middle" is the equator.
Oblate SpheroidThe true shape of the Earth called an Oblate Spheroid. The term "Oblate" refers to it's slightly oblong appearance. The term "Spheroid" means that it is almost a sphere, but not quite. One of the most important things to remember about the Earth's shape is that it is only very slightly oblate. The diameter from the North Pole to the South Pole (the shortest diameter) is approximately 12,714 km. The equatorial diameter (the longest diameter) is approximately 12,756 km. This is not a big difference, but it does make the Earth not quite a sphere.

The earth is not exactly round like a ball, but
geo-spherical, i.e. it is flattened at the poles. The
following verse contains a description of the earth’s
shape:
“And the earth, moreover,
hath He made egg shaped.”
[Al-Qur’an 79:30]
The Arabic word for egg here is dahaahaa1 which
means an ostrich-egg. The shape of an ostrich-egg
resembles the geo-spherical shape of the earth.
visit this link: YouTube - The Egg-shaped Earth
compare it with ostrich's egg, not ordinary egg.

Some bible inerrantists claim the universe is 6,000 years old, with fossils of dinosaurs planted in the ground and light from distant galaxies pre-positioned enroute. On one hand they say God can be known from looking at the world (per Romans 1:20). On the other hand, they say the world's age was faked. A fake past joined seamlessly with a real present can never be disproven. The line could be set at yesterday just as validly as at 4000 BC. With no way to tell, it's a waste of time to assert any date. Why the emphasis on an invisible 6,000 year-old seam?

But isn't the Earth's un-roundness exactly opposite that of the ostrich's egg? If the Earth looked like an ostrich egg, shouldn't the diameter from the North Pole to the South Pole be longer than the equatorial diameter, not shorter?

The diameter across the equator is 7927 miles, and across the poles only 7900 miles. This oblateness is 1/290, which is not evident to the naked eye from, say, 50,000 miles up. Jupiter, however, is clearly flattened.

Man, the picture was in front of you in link provided. Ostrich's looked exactly the same as earth. Possibly, you are talking about a different perspective than that shown in the video.

Because Last Thursdayism hasn't really managed to get a toehold in popular culture yet.

Umm... I'm not sure what you mean. Ostrich eggs are rotationally symmetric about its longest axis. The Earth is rotationally symmetric about its shortest axis. The two cases are polar (no pun intended) opposites.

With different perspectives, different results can be obtained. See the perspective in the link provided by me: YOUTUBE one.
