    Life's real test

Is not the freedom taken from life when the parent has expectations. It is the parents responsibility to manifest their beliefs and if the offspring finds them attractive then so be it and they will build upon it as if it was theirs.

    Life's real test

Don't you think believing in something like this is the reason behind some of the contrary behavior we are witnessing?

I thought I had out grown it but some of my experiences on this forum clearly indicate I haven't.

    Perfection

Can you see perfection in your life? I remember my first introduction into the concept, I saw it as a sun (totally undefinable) and I thought of it as being as far from me as I envisioned the sun to be from me. But then I began to see it in small things, a test score with the word prefect next...

If I may, I'd like to applaud your effort described by your first paragraph. I remember hearing when the student is ready the teacher will appear.

What are the two elements of the dualism in 'non-dualism'?

We have different views of the mind, I see it as the container in which we experience the duality and decide on whether we like something or not. No problem.

What are the two elements of the dualism in 'non-dualism'?

Now, I'm really lost, if emotion is but an expression of the mind how can it be thought of as part of a duality? My question is can you give me an example of mind manifesting emotion?

    Quick Question

It may or may not be rare but the word guard just seems counter productive. We hire people to protect either us or that which we possess from basically ourselves instead of focusing on the problem that produced the situation that required a guard.

    Quick Question

Guard, wow, sounds like a prison.

I wandered lonely as a cloud

I wonder why the cloud had to be lonely? Maybe the word carried a different meaning when he wrote this?

What are the two elements of the dualism in 'non-dualism'?

Still not clear for me, could you give me an example of the mind manifesting emotion, I can say thinking and not thinking or feeling and not feeling, the mind for me is tool, we use it of we don't use it.
