    Is Thor a god?

Thor is the son of Odin, the King of the Norse Gods, and Jord, the Spirit of the Earth, who is sorta like Gia. Thor is one of the three primary male Gods of Norse Mythology, the other two being Odin & Frey.

What's the right age to get married?

1,00 years ago the "normal" age for marriage began around 12 or 13......when did it change to 18, and does anyone know why?? The best I can figure, it was during the time of the CHILD LABOR LAWS during the early to mid-1900's. I have a teacher friend who feel in love with one of his 7th grade...

    A place for Heathens......

Hey all. I have followed the Norse Way since 1992 or so, and am now a Priest of Thor. I am also a Skald(storyteller), and have told Norse Myths in area schools, libraries Art Festivals, SCA events and our local Pagan Pride Day celebrations. I am in the process of writing a book on basic...

    Heathenry?

If you notice in the European Religions area here, I just asked if they could start an area for the Norse religion....which is Heathen. I have followed the Norse Way for well over a decade now, and am a Priest of Thor. I am also a Skald, and tell stories of Norse Mythology at some local...

    Nagin: God mad at America

This sort of attitude about the Christian God punishing people is one of the reasons that I and others I know left that faith.

WW2, The United States, and Nukes

I feel we did what needed to be done to end the war. With the Germans as well. And, look at what we have done to help both countries recover since then. That alone speaks for itself. We did not go in and just set up shop and rule their country.

The "end" of the Cold War......

Here are several sites on the Cold War: www.historyguide.org/europe/lecture14.html http://amercianhistory.about.com/od/coldwar/ www.vce.com/coldwar.html I also suggest you read BEYOND PEACE, by Richard Nixon. This book tells, from Nixon's point of view, his ideas on how we should be...

a few questions about an alter....

If we could add a pic to our post, I would put a pic of my family alter here. I have ONE candle for both the gods and goddesses on it. However, when I hold Ritual for our local pagan/heathen group, sometimes I use two candles. I use whatever color candle I happen to have, but that's just me...

WW2, The United States, and Nukes

And what about all those in England and other European countries who lost lives, homes and loved ones??? Were they just "in the wrong place at the wrong time"??? People die during war.....in EVERY war. Is it more "honorable" to have several thousand die vs. several hundred thousand? That is...

Why is it important to be right?

It was my answer to the child that was "right" or "wrong", not education. Perhaps if you were to give some examples of things you are thinking of......

WW2, The United States, and Nukes

I do not agree. War can be fought with honor....troops against troops.....and, yes, civilians do die as well. However, I do not buy into your theory that the place where people are born makes it sometimes "necessary" for them to die. That, IMO, sounds like it is their fault....or perhaps...

Why is it important to be right?

I do not always feel I need to be "right".....or "wrong"......but there are times when I am one of the two. For example.....as a Substitute Teacher....when a student asks a question, I give them the "right" answer.......and when I don't, I admit I am "wrong". Does this line of reasoning answer...
