  • It's so nice to discuss these things with you! It's real late now, but I'll post some more thoughts later on, and we can hash them over. In case you didn't know, I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I've found their understanding of the Scriptures sensible and enlightening! I used to research religions all the time, but they found me...it's been quite a journey!

    I gathered as much! I don't know a whole lot about them, but I have the impression they maintain a very literal interpretation of scripture, can be pretty clannish (my friend grew up in a JW family and I've heard some stories for one thing--not that it's necessarily unusual for a religious sect), and tend to proselytize.

    I guess everyone has heard the stuff about transfusions, which is pretty odd and unjustifiable for me in some cases, but I don't really know the whole picture there. I've been an agnostic atheist for a long time myself. I take the agnostic part pretty seriously--there's a lot we don't know. But it doesn't hurt to think about it :) Looking forward to talking more!
