    A statement of fact must be true...if it is not true to say "it is raining" then it is not a fact that it is raining...the fact has not become false, it just is not a fact...but the fact itself is just a fact... a fact cannot possibly be false, therefore it makes no sense to speak of the fact...

    I think these are getting close to how I see it... A fact just is, regardless of whether it is recognized or not, whereas truth is a quality of statements...I think.
