  • Praying to two other gods, eh? :) Which two is that?
And do you mind if I ask how you came to consider it? What's interested you there? :)
I saw in a post that you are a monist. I think this says that you believe the whole universe is one. Is this correct?
Jesus make a whip (or possibly a flogger) out of cords and beat people out of the temple. Jesus cast 2000 demons from a man into 2000 pigs, resulting in the death of 2000 owned swine which he did not have permission to use, which is the same as stealing. So he stole and killed in that story. He also kills a fig tree, against the law of Torah, merely for not bearing fruit OUT OF SEASON. He killed tree's (against torah) he killed animals (again, against Torah).
And if you were familiar with the law of the time you'd know that the mechants where in the outer edge of the temple, a place that had always been allowed money changers and animals, because they were necesary for sacrifices, the following of a commandment by god. Jesus had neither the right nor the reason to raise a hand to these men. And if he was truly wise or powerful he'd find another way of dealing with them. But he resorted to violence. The bible makes clear jesus' character; he was an angry angry man.

Belittling is wrong, regaurdless of the reasons. He insults his friends, followers, family, and enemies repeatedly, if you would like I can provide you biblical quotes and you can read them for yourself. If you are going to argue that all the negative parts of the bible are merely added by others than who's to say that the entire bible isn't merely fiction?

If your aware of it why'd you call christianity the word of Christ?
If you've ever read the bible then you know jesus was not a good man. He stole, killed, beat people, belittled his own disciples and family, and cursed his enemies. He was a lier and a hypocrite. You've made my point of violence in christianity for me with the bruce lee example.

And christianity is not the words of christ. Jesus never fulfilled the messianic prophecies, he did not qualify as a christ, and even if he had it still would not be his word as he did not write the bible or anything in it.
That's good, wasn't sure if it was okay to message a person continuing a convo, I haven't been on this cite long. I see your point with the do no harm but I do not feel the 'turn the other cheek' example is well used here, given that it comes from christianity, the most blood soaked group in the whole of human history. Turning the other cheek only matters when there aren't other phrases in the religion to contradict it. Buddhism would work for the do no harm example, but none of the abrahamic traditions would.
Hey wolf, I was going to respond but the thread got closed, and with good reason I think we can agree. But to you question "So we should do things that we don't like being done to us? " The golden rule, do unto others as you would have done unto you, to put it from the christian version of it. Yes. I am a massochist/sadist. I like pain. If I was to randomly do unto others what I want done to me, without their consent, it would be very very bad. And vice versa, you must understand that people are different from each other. What you would have done to you and what I would have done to me will not be the same. If you still think the golden rule really is the best, then you must be telling me you want to be put through kinky physical pain.

Modalism is the belief that there is one G-d, absolutely one. No "three persons in one being", no "three beings in one accord". The "Father", "Son", and "Holy Spirit" are only different ways humans perceive this one G-d, and that there is no difference between them - they are all forms of the one G-d, and any appearance of separation between these is only due to human inability to understand the infinity of G-d.
R wolf "Hey, I never said the Baha'i beliefs to be "true"! Calm down. I personally believe that the 1000 year thing to be untrue, but that it is a step up from thinking that one's own revelation is the final one.

I don't know much about Sikhism, to tell you the truth." __________________
