There was a huge paranoid *********/conspiracy theory in the 80s about nazi satanic cultists who played D&D and abused children, I find a *lot* of people still believe the general idea, even if the specifics have mostly been discredited outside the deeply fundamentalist groups.
Maybe, but there's a difference between 'person kinda gets what I'm saying' 'person has no idea what I'm saying' and 'person thinks I said something completely different'. The first one is acceptable, the second can be fixed, the third can create long term confusion.
I think there's some records of Gnostics calling themselves Gnostic starting in the 4th century, but it wasn't common (and I'm too lazy to actually verify that right now).
In the modern sense: I like the term, but there's so much confusion as to what 'Gnostic' means that I can't communicate...

Bachmann is poor substitute for Palin. Santorum and Perry have both brought refreshingly new kinds of crazy.
Plus I want the POTUS to have Santorum's Google problem, so really, Bachmann needs to go.
