    Interesting thought about omniscience.

Hey, let's strive to keep things civil. You think an idea is stupid, and that's fine, but we don't fling mud around here. So, first, i'm just gonna say, change "tomorrow" to "today" and you might see your argument collapse. Mainly, I feel this argument only holds up(if it in fact does hold up)...

    Interesting thought about omniscience.

Long story short, since you don't just outright say it is "Life has whatever meaning you give it." If you say anything else, you are making claims for which you have no proof. When someone like myself despairs over the meaningless of life, it's because even if there is a meaning, I'm certainly...

    Interesting thought about omniscience.

Nah, an omniscient being would be perfectly capable of knowing what it's thoughts will be before it has them.

    Interesting thought about omniscience.

I often don't have much use for these kinds of ideas, but I can definitely see what you are talking about. I imagine an infinite being's single biggest challenge would be to combat boredom. Or combat a desire to end one's self(if you even can) out of said boredom.

    Interesting thought about omniscience.

It's not so much that God would be doing it on purpose. More like we are, as a poster above said, a figment of god's imagination. We exist because we think we exist, but do we really? That's where the mind bender comes in, in my opinion. Ultimately, we can gauge our universe and apply all these...

    Interesting thought about omniscience.

So, when you get people talking about god, and one of the people is a nonbeliever and the other is a believer, you get some interesting back and forth. One such, which I've heard multiple times, is that there is evil in the world because god is testing us. Well, the nonbeliever declares that for...

1st world Feminism. Is it necessary?

Meh, I don't honestly know all that much about egalitarianism. Just seems like a more balanced approach to the whole thing. I'd happily take a look at any sites you have of feminism that you think might give me a better idea of feminism and what it's really working towards. I've said it earlier...

1st world Feminism. Is it necessary?

It is rather ironic. I'll see feminists decrying the spotlight fallacy, and turn around and all unwittingly do the same thing to MRA's. It's okay though, cause feminists are the good guy and MRA's are the bad guys, lol.

1st world Feminism. Is it necessary?

Hmmm.... I may actually be guilty of the spotlight fallacy when it comes to feminism. It's partially why I'm talking in this thread now, to get a better sense of feminism.

1st world Feminism. Is it necessary?

Lewis's Law is a fallacy. It should at best be a joke you guys toss around to each other, not used as anything resembling a serious argument.

1st world Feminism. Is it necessary?

You know, this actually brings up another part of why I'm not a fan of feminism. It's their tendency to take people's issues, and turn them into women's issues. For example, even if you buy the idea that 85% of domestic violence victims are female, that doesn't make it a woman's issue. It's just...

1st world Feminism. Is it necessary?

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I've been in a foul mood the last couple of days and nothing I said would have either really reflected my actual opinions or been very nice. I can't argue with you on this point. We do seem to care way to much about female politicians looks rather than...

Which posts were deleted? I ran through the first page really quick and saw all of your posts there.

1st world Feminism. Is it necessary?

Okay, as I've been looking at feminism, I do see the need for more equality. I don't necessarily think feminism is the vessel that will achieve that equality, but I don't see it as purely bad. I will, however, try to poke some holes in the claims that were made in the wikipedia explanation. 1...

1st world Feminism. Is it necessary?

I can agree with the concept that men and women are different. This is pretty much self evident. I can also understand how a vocal minority can skew someone's opinion of what something really is, as that may have something to do with my dislike of feminism. You know, I didn't really clarify...
