  • That's just so interesting. It makes me think of becoming the tree in a way. If there is no afterlife, I could live on as a tree! haha. I've always had a fascination with trees. I view them as almost guardians. When you think of how old a tree can be... It's just amazing to think that that one tree was standing during a time when some of your ancestors were around as well... It's just so intriguing. I still want the stone ship burial, which is basically being buried and then the gravesite being surrounded with stones to resemble a ship, but I think it would be cool to be buried in the middle and have a tree planted over me, almost like becoming the mast of the ship. Becoming part of a tree just seems so natural and intriguing.
    G'day buddy,
Of course there was no harm done, we're on the same side! Just the usual bickering that goes on in the scientific community... we are all nerds after all lol.
As for my background, It's a bit of a strange one. I call myself a biologist but my actual degree is a bachelor of technology in aquaculture (fish farming). Just about all my topics were done within the school of biological sciences though, so I think it's a fair call. It's almost the same as a marine biology degree, except we do a few other topics like business management, marketing and law.
I have worked on many fish farms, both as a nutritionist and a water quality analyst, and I've done some research in fish nutrition.
I became interested in the whole "science vs religeon" thing when I applied to do some experiments in transgenics, and was told "that type of research is out of bounds, as it offends certain religeous groups". This is what we must fight against.

Hope to see you on the boards.
Thankyou. I did reasonably well in the coursework but was a bit let down by my referencing (I've never been able to get my head round it). Apparently my grasp on the theories was fine, so hopefully the exam will go well.
    No problem :)

I'm not too bad thankyou, just approaching the end of my exams now, so after Thursday I'll be a lot less stressed ;) How about yourself?
Meh, I don't go out of my way to read it either.

Though I do write it frequently, its pretty hard to impress me. Though I am still able to appreciate the beauty of a willful mind.

    Xeper
Ha. :D I've never made a sweater, actually. Perhaps someday when I feel brave enough to start one. Now socks...socks I can do!

I'll likely be back to your album to stroll through those photos again and again. Don't be alarmed ~ I'm just fantasizing about moving there someday. (It's cheap therapy. :p )
Oh, man... :hearts: I'd make her a sweater too. :) She's beautiful, and so are all of your pictures. I love looking through them.
thaanks for the tip. There's a lot of stuff to navigate on here, lots of interesting stuff to read too. Will stick around for a bit. Been here a day and received no abuse and have not (unintentionally) offended anyone. That's a record for me
I thought they were delivered anon? Still feeling my way on here at the moment, only joined last night. It's a pretty good site, better than most religion based forums.
    Thanks man :D

I'll check some of your posts too. There is this one thread I think you should take a look at if it interests you at all...the thread is called...Atheists Desire To Disprove God.
