Yes. Outside the Bible, virtually any text, Christian or Gnostic, affirms them. We have documents written by men, like St. Ignatius, who were right close to them in history. St. Irenaeus talks about learning from St. Polycarp, who learned from the Apostle John.
For evidence we have early...
In a lot of cases, the differences between the "extremist" and the "moderate" are in the eyes of the beholder. Was Thomas Jefferson an extremist in his political arguments? At the very least, they are dominant today. Yet, not only would his views have been labeled "extreme", but he went to...
Yeah, that's why I can't rally behind a specific party. They're both composed of people that want to control and screw me...and not give me any benefits for my troubles either :biglaugh:
How does one have "faith" without "social ritual/reflex"? Everything we as humans do is ritualistic. That's just how we are. Consequently, even things we find very valuable, we often do reflexively without even thinking about it. The old lady who hardly ever speaks, but crosses herself anytime...
That's good, because it was an excellent game, and I hope you do. Bethesda does some good work.
Another RPG to try is Arx Fatalis. If you don't get the bug I got, and I've not met anyone else who has, then that game is quite fun as well.
You may not like Morrowind now. Oblivion is better in just about every category. These two are the sorts of games you must play sequentially. I've seen a couple of people try it in this order, and I've not seen a one finish Morrowind, which is sad, because it was a great game (bugs excepted).
X has a decent story (but not great). It's world, though, feels alive, not stale. The biggest problems with X are the videos and that they straightjacket you. You can't do anything but what they declare. There's a preset path, and it's like you're walking down a hallway. When there's a turn, you...
I noticed that half of the game was CGI. FFVII was good enough that I didn't notice that problem, but VIII just didn't have its charms. I like to play my games, not watch them. I've not enjoyed a new Final Fantasy since.
Another reason is that the characters were all very stale to me. There...
Ah, on MK1 I would have killed to get the Genesis version for the blood specifically. Fortunately, we did have it on MKII. I thought the SNES version was as good as it got, but then I saw the 32x version, and I wished I had that instead.
No, it's not been the same, and it's not been as good (I...
Yep. I had an SNES, but never a Genesis. MK2 on Genesis really did suck, suck, suck. The stupidest platform I ever bought an MK for was the PC (I got MK4 for it), but I got to play as Goro :). That does remind me, though, I need to go Ebay surfing for MK: Gold for the Dreamcast.
Age of Empires, Shogun: Total War, Street Fighter II (I've even ponied up for a tourney stick that I haven't received yet), Mortal Kombat II (I've only missed Armageddon), Zelda (NES), Metroid II (almost; I cannot bring myself to buy a Wii), Wolfenstein 3D, Knights of the Old Republic, and Mass...
RPG: Mass Effect and FFVII
Roguelike: Nethack (One has to mention it)
Fighter: Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Dreamcast)
Shooter: Unreal Tournament
Strategy: Shogun: Total War
Adventure: Zelda 3
