  • Cool just got a new dog today... a blackmouth curr, supposed to be a type of herd dog, he is about 7 months old. Now if I can get my goats to stop head butting the dogs and scaring the **** out of them... I made the mistake with our first herd dog of introducing him to the goats right off the bat, the first goat, 350 to 375 pound Donk drilled him in the head and he wouldn't go near a goat again after that...
Awsome, I finally have the missing axle on the mobile trailer I am getting ready to move, can't wait to get it out here and use it for a shop.
Just found a newborn baby buck after getting the kids home from the bus stop, baby goat number five so far, he is now named Scrat he is the first baby born to Chancey.
Growing red potatoes, klondikes and two other varieties, not sure what they are though, root crops are beets, radishes, kolrabi so far. We just grow it all to eat it, the greens of a lot of it is handy for the goats and rabbitts.
MG, what kind of potatoes? And do you grow the root crops for nutrition for your family? The animals? Green manuring? All of the above?

My husband and I have dreams of having our own farm in the future (he spent much of his childhood on one and misses being surrounded by nature 24/7). So, I really really really like your photos and updates here. :D
One of my favorite times of the year... planting the gardens.. I have 500sq ft of potatoes in and about 200 sq ft of garlic so far. Getting ready to plant all of my cool weather root crops, hopeing to have about 5 to 6,000 sq ft this year.
Very, very cool, Prancy just had twins, we have a new buck goat named Manny, he is all white and looks like his father Donk, we also have new doe named Elly who is black and brown like her mother. Prancy's mother Princess just gave us a new buck named Max on the 16th of last month, Max is white with tan like his father Fart.
Sitting here watching the snow fall, not exactly usefull to the plans I had today, but much prettier.. I can't help but smile...
Today is dentist day.... 65 mile drive to the office and two children and the wife getting teeth pulled.... should be a fun drive back... lol
You are not living, unless you are covered in mother nature halfway through the day...lol my basic philosophy I guess.
Well I am hoping for the best, my grandpa still looked like this when he died at 67. Like my grandfather and father I have heart trouble but we seem to get by it relatively well just a little shorter lifespan than most. My dad jokes, about us all just having to much heart... describes us on two fronts..
Good lord man! You look like a young fit version of me! Have I got terrible news for you about what happens when you hit 55! (please don't tell me you are 55 ;-)

Welcome to the boards and all the best from Australia.
