Truth is an attribute that belongs to the statement. For example, you could be in a hologram (as in Star Trek). You could say, "it is raining". You look around and it is raining. So you believe that your statement is true, because there is justification for you to believe that it is so. However...
In a way, science and religion are incompatible. Any given religion has a dogma, a set of beliefs that are so sacred that they cannot be questioned. OTOH, science questions everything, even long estasblished theory. Now theist will point here that there are many scientists who believe in God...
Truth is about statements.
Example: the statement, "It is raining outside". You go out to see if it is raining (fact). If it is raining then the statement is true. Otherwise the statement is false.
