    Best and Worst Presidents?

I like the Roosevelts. Worst may be Jackson or Buchanan or A. Johnson.

    What would you choose?

I get upset sometimes that I can't have all three, but I guess that's just life, huh? I bet it'll work out someday.

    What would you choose?

You're considering three places in the country to live. Unfortunately, each only offers two of the three things that are important to you, which are: Proximity to family (you like your family) Availability of jobs (two of these places are meccas for your particular field; in the other place...

    Autism

That's really great. I've met so many parents who didn't take it that way at all. It splits up so many families and causes a lot of problems for many people. I'm glad that it has worked out so well for your family :)

    Autism

I spent a lot of time working with autistic kids, mostly due to a volunteer experience in high school. One summer in college I worked as an assistant teacher in a literacy program for special needs kids. My group included two children with autism: one who spoke but had other behavioral...

Oh congrats to you and your wife!

    I really wish I believed

I don't mind if other people get involved. I don't get insulted too easily when it comes to religion. However, I have found it can be very frustrating once it gets into a debate, since it can't be proven (of course).

    I really wish I believed

Well I'm definitely up for that, wherever the correct place is to discuss! :)

    I really wish I believed

Oh thanks! Yeah, we got married about 2.5 months ago :) I definitely understand that God isn't necessary for morality, but I'm a "play by the rules" kind of girl. I like it when rules are set by an outside source. Then again, if I were living in a strictly religious area, I'd probably hate...

What are YOU looking for in politicians?

I like politicians who will admit to being wrong after considering new evidence or another person's dissenting views. This shows intelligence and humility, which to me are two important characteristics in a leader.

    Do We Marry Our Parents?

I guess there are some characteristics my husband shares with my dad, such as being no-nonsense, practical, and resourceful. They get along well. And I get along very well with my mother-in-law. I could see it happening when you really jive with your own parents. You love them a lot and...

    I really wish I believed

I definitely think it is fear and sadness, then. Or maybe selfishness, to want to have the people you love always around for you to love! Absolutely makes sense, and that's how I felt for awhile (and still do feel--whatever fulfills you spiritually and helps you live life the best way you can...

    I really wish I believed

Hey supermod! :) Same to you, always great to see a familiar face! Well, I still like Judaism. I like the community, I like the belief system (regardless of how I feel about God). But my husband still always wants to do Christmas with his family even if we don't celebrate it together, and I...

    I really wish I believed

Right, there's no official teaching on the afterlife in Judaism. I practice Reform Judaism, which means that most of the nasty bits are taken out anyways! That's partially good (takes out the scare factor) and partially bad (for a person who prefers guidelines). Eternal damnation definitely...

    I really wish I believed

Maybe it's not so much fear as what you're saying, sadness or regret. I think I'm just getting to a point in my life where family members are growing older (I've had several extended family members pass away recently) and I'm finding it hard. When you believe you'll see them again later, it...
