I really wish they would "upgrade the standard" of converts. There are so many "former Mormons" and you know that 90% of them were not Mormon long enough to dry off from the baptism.
The difference is that it wasn't one person. I've been defending gay marriage to my Mormon friends and Mormons to my gay friends for months. I'm sick of hearing people call my friends and family bigots and homophobes - especially since these people have refused to listen to the "pro Prop 8"...
The damage is done. Not by you, but by the movement itself. I might come around to supporting them again, but not anytime soon. For the time being, my mantra is "you're on your own."
Isn't that what politics are all about? We got this constitution thing in the 1700s and people have been changing it and creating laws based on it ever since to force people to conform to their view of how the world should be. This isn't anything new. I honestly don't care if gay people can get...
Yeah. The proposition amended the constitution, so the protection is no longer there. I was against it, but came around in the last 24 hours (in large part thanks to the video in this thread).
