Alright, so I'm not really in the mood to write anything about identity politics right now - but I think I made some posts elsewhere that were coherent on the topic, but perhaps easily misread. I am at times fascinated by the general topic, and think there are important things to understand...
I think God made everyone so we can all shine without blinding any one else, and that there's a balanced way to live in peace with everyone else on earth. And with all the other biology
that's interesting and it seems important, but while I think that remembering the good for why they were good is important, I also think it's important that all the nations learn to live in balance with each other in the present, and into the future. God created us all, and it looks like he...
It's not impossible, as it requires transformation. A camel can pass through the eye of a needle: thence it becomes John the Baptist's camel hair vest. Occasionally, God favors kings, if they transform themselves into humble and productive people
I don't know, I flipped open the bible randomly the other day to Isaiah chapter 53. I think one could read those verses in there from the standpoint of an individual who failed to stand up for himself.. It seems to imply, in a certain reading of it, that you should speak and act in self interest...
I think the bible often talked about a satisfied poor person vs. a flustered, angry rich person.. if I recall. Seems like there were some lines in there about how it's better to be poor, if you have less problems.. better to eat in peace than to eat with people that are angry, or something
If I don't care about myself, I assume no one out there will. Everyone wants beneficial outcomes, but luckily some are win-win outcomes. I would have been fine with either presidential choice, I'll have to work hard either way
Well I guess I'm just not really interested in voting. You guys who do it, that's great. I hope your pick wins. I just don't see how it will change my situation all that much either way. I think young people and seniors are mostly the ones that vote. The young people do it because they have a...
before I respond to anything you said, I would say that you should be careful not to 'let the perfect be the enemy of the good.'
That said, I think it would depend on the aspirations of the poor people - they could be on a footing for future success. Such is probably the case with many...
Well what would that license be based on? It would be based on competence and resources
I used to post that I was pro-license in this matter, but I don't know. I'd rather people follow good general rules on their own about this kind of thing.. which I don't really think they do, but whatever...
I am not pro coercion, I just imagine a world where most of the couples agree only to have 1-2 offspring for a time. But I think men and women could make their own birth control choices after that. If it doesn't always work, effort is enough. It would statistically work out, probably anyway
ok I'm not a math person, but if y = 4000, and 4000 is the 'resources,' and x =2, and '2' is each population unit, then there are 2000 units of 2 that can take up those resources evenly.. If you add any more, than everyone has to use less resources. Everyone then would have to 'right' to less
