The supposed Jesus would have had a much better chance of proving his case for being a god if he had waited until now to appear on the scene. DNA tests would have proven it conclusively one way or the other.
If one assumes there is a god that has some interest in the lives of homo sapiens, the fact that it allows needless suffering of children or any person proves at least it cannot be benevolent, at best, it is neutral.
I think from the lack of evidence that the Jesus represented in the bible was a mythical personage, not unusual about the main characters in religions in general of course (if they have a main character).
"
Jesus was put on earth to save humanity"
From what, they had done fine w/o him for thousands of years.
"So just what is it that those responsible for his crucifixion don't know that deserves forgiveness? "

""I think the quote makes sense in the context. He was simply claiming not to be a god; It was apparent that he wasn't the (Christian) God and he didn't want people to get the wrong idea about what he was. I took "immortals" to mean angels or demons. Thus, he was-- or used to be-- a human, that...
"jesus parables, are unique in philosophy, so much so, I doubt it was taught"
LOL, the golden rule, basically what the supposed Jesus taught, had already been around for 1000's of years.
Dawkins is one of the best scientists that has ever lived. Just because he gives his (correct) view on the non-existence of a god does not take anything away from his scientific achievements.
One problem, do you like being around people that think just like you all the time in real life? Think about who you married, if you are married, and what they are like.
"Does the day of Christ ressurection tell us to worship on Sunday? "
What was the day of the ressurection? I don't believe I've seen any calendars in the NT.
