Evidence that God does not exist

That's right. Proof is not the same as evidence. Proof is often understood to mean absolutely correct, and that is the definition I use.

Evidence that God does not exist

It is nothing I haven't thought about before.

Evidence that God does not exist

The magnitude of evidence is largely subjective. And I am not trying to prove anything false. When God appears to be the product of human imagination as much as it does, AND any explanation of God for nature is frivolous, it follows, at least in my mind, and it should also follow in reasonable...

Evidence that God does not exist

The magnitude of the evidence is subjective. To me, it is conclusive, but it may not be enough for others.

Evidence that God does not exist

My apologies. I meant the Judeo-Christian God.

Evidence that God does not exist

I think the evidence for a non-existent God is equivalent in magnitude to the evidence behind the popular Santa Claus. Santa Claus can be examined in myth, and God can be examined in religion.

Evidence that God does not exist

I did, but I didn't emphasize it properly. I said, "The naturalistic philosophy of science has gone so far in making sense of the universe that there is very little any need for extraordinary explanations such as God." It follows that God and all other magic is extremely unlikely.

Evidence that God does not exist

God does not exist. I don't have all the knowledge in the universe, so how could I know? Nothing is absolutely certain outside the realm of logic and mathematics, and nothing can ever be "proven" in the natural world. Our brains could be fed sensory illusions in a sadistic laboratory, and...

How to make an atheistic statement seen by thousands in America, using only a red pen

The question was, " Is your hate for God or the idea of God so strong that you would cross out the name God of our currency?" And I said yes. I hate the delusion of God.

A man like me doesn't need a thread title

Hey, all. I was asked to introduce myself here. So be it. I am a 22-year-old white male atheist. Or a WASA, if you will. I have been an atheist for about four years, and I believe strongly about it. I enjoy building my pride by practicing karate, honing my intellect, and bodybuilding at...

How to make an atheistic statement seen by thousands in America, using only a red pen

Spacemonkey, thank you for that, though I now feel even more insulted than before. Dear Sir: You are about to submit your annual report to the Congress respecting the affairs of the national finances. One fact touching our currency has hitherto been seriously overlooked. I mean the...

How to make an atheistic statement seen by thousands in America, using only a red pen

OK, I am not going to agree. You can't have freedom of religion without freedom from religion. I can't figure out how anyone can seriously believe otherwise. Are you saying that everyone except atheists deserves to have their rights respected by the government? Maybe we should have mandatory...

How to make an atheistic statement seen by thousands in America, using only a red pen

Bills stay in circulation for as long they are still fit to circulate. The average life of a one-dollar-bill is 18 months, and longer for larger currency. They all pass through the same number of hands. Nobody notices the bright red markings on a coin. I still use cash. My grocery story...
