    DifferingReligious Views on Euthanasia

Well, in the case I'm analysing it is passive euthanasia - basically the case is that a woman is applying to become curatrix over her husband, and made her intention clear to cut off the naso-gastric feeding tube - ie. the life support. However her belief is that it's not this that shall kill...

    DifferingReligious Views on Euthanasia

I know there are several threads on Euthanasia, but I've got an assignment on it and this question is a bit more specific. I have an essay to write on Euthanasia, presenting the legal, moral and religious views. The legality isn't much of a problem, I can go to the library on campus for that...

    fasting

Salaam, John well, whatever works for you. I know, one does get used to it quite quickly, i've found as well. I have a question, and since this is a thread on fasting i hope it's oke if i post it here... My Muslim friends have told me that not only does one not fast on Fridays of Ramadan...

    Discrimination

Yes, i agree completely! I am completely infuriated by the concept of 'affirmative action' - AKA compensatory discrimination in South Africa, because it means that MY qualifications and abilities mean a rat's tail because i'm a white male. So if i was to apply for a job, i would be passed in...

    The inevitable from Hamas ?

This worries me, but it's inevitable. Democracy is essential in the ME, but it's going to lead to the same thing as it did in Germany and Japan in the 1930s - a worse dictator will rise through legal democratic process. Hamas, Hizbullah and the Muslim Brotherhood are all groups with terrorist...

    Travel troubles

Hey guys, please help... I have a speech competition on Tuesday, and as usual i'm doing a humorous speech. This year, it's going to be travel tales. Here's my speech so far, just tell me if you think it's funny enough, and if you have any stories you'd like to share that could work thanks...

Would you marry outside of your faith?

Ah. that would be a problem, since if you're starting a family you're not going to be able to avoid religious issues. However, all the best ;) and i hope you find someone soon

Would you marry outside of your faith?

Personally, as a romanticist, I'd marry out of my faith with little problem. My parents would be vicious towards me for the rest of my life, undoubtedly. But it's my life and my love. As for the point of raising children, that's actually crucial. And divorce is certainly not the answer here...

What would you tell a christian friend?

well, it's not a possibility to be ruled out entirely, Binyamin... people wouldn't expect a zionist to be close friends with a Palestinian who's politically outspoken, but i am. Personally, if (s)he was my friend, (s)he would discuss it rationally, not criticise opprobriously.

    Is fantasy good for people?

I guess i'm also a bit biased, I'm writing fantasy stories, after all :bounce on one hand - fantasy is brilliant escapism and soothes the tormented mind. Considering how stressful today is, it's just nice to live in dreams for a bit. On the other, i have noted that dreams are highly...

    Randomlosophy

Toes Toes are undeniably the most important body parts any creature may have. The Universal Medical Board has ranked them the second-most sought after body part, after feet. Many great heroes have paid tribute to their toes, including the great gambler, Lucin Lotsogimee, who once said “I’ll...

    fasting

John, i'd have to agree with Aqualung that you should probably wait until you're back onto a regular eating schedule before you start exercising. My brother, who's just graduated as a doctor, tells me it's really not good for your health. Ramadan mubarak, everyone... despite the fact that i'm...

    common misconceptions about Hinduism

I'm not specifically Hindu myself, but my philosophy is, to an extent based on Hinduism and i've many Hindu friends as well. Gracie, after hearing Oprah's interview of Aishwarya Rai, i'd certainly say the kama-sutra is a common misconception. Mention the word 'India' and people will think...

    Englishophobia?

Have the English been portrayed as bad guys in Hollywood? bugger. i've been lost in Bollywood for longer than i thought! Well, Bollywood doesn't specifically make all Englishmen evil, but considering the chaos all their colonialism and partitions caused... well. A little country did a lot...
