I think it's unfortunate that so many people believe the Bible's teachings about the afterlife, which are very erroneous and misleading. You know why I believe this to be true. Sadly, not many of these poor souls realize that the Bible's claims about the afterlife are wrong and misleading until it's too late.
The part that is true is when life ends here, it continues somewhere else. The Bible does not really claim anything else except that there will be eternal life for those who believe in Jesus. The Christians make the claims when they read the Bible and try to imagine what it means to have eternal life.

use a bible to prove that to be true.

"What does the Bible mean by life everlasting?" right now you are living .if you never died , that would be life everlasting. man dies now because of the inheritance of sin. death is the end of man nothing about you go's floating off , mankind's death is the same as it is for a cow a cat or a dog . dead means dead . there is how ever a way out of death .John 3:16
Everlasting life means that when physical life ends here on earth, the soul continues to live forever in heaven.
Life continues in heaven when the soul takes on a spiritual body. Life does not continue in a physical body.

If your physical body never died that would be immortality, not everlasting life.
Everlasting life means a quality of life, nearness to God, and that begins on earth and continues in heaven.

The physical body dies because the physical body was not created to be immortal. All physical bodies die and decompose . Only the soul is immortal because it never dies.

In my opinion, the notion that eternal life is only for those who believe in Jesus is not only absurd but also exceedingly arrogant.

I don't believe that either. It is absurd and arrogant. I was only stating what the Bible claims. ;)
Of course, anyone can make the Bible say whatever they want to believe, it's all about cherry-picking and interpretation.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

You can go round and round with a Christian about the Bible if you want to, but I'm sure you already realize that Christians don't normally budge when it comes to what they personally believe about the Bible. The majority of the ones I've met always believe that they're right in what they believe about the Bible, and everyone else, including other Christians, is dead wrong in what they believe about the Bible. And they are more than eager to "correct" you, implying or even telling you that you're wrong and that you should "try again." It's like trying to communicate with a brick wall and expecting a response.

What would heaven be like if everything you most enjoy in life isn't part of it? As a unique individual with personal tastes and preferences, the realization that these are not predominately shared by my root system, which stem from the bible is concerning. At least, they are sometimes shunned. Things such as sexual attraction to the opposite sex, and having an alcoholic beverage from time to time, and things like expressive sexuality. I thought these were the basics of human continuation and happiness. Why would I choose the opposite for myself?
One of the conditions of getting into heaven is you will also have eternal life. This can create a problem. One would need to figure out how, not to get bored, in heaven, since you are going to live, forever. Sensations puts you in the moment; the now, with eternity having too many moments for just that to be enough. Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die, is about our sensations being a relative way to extend our short time. But this strategy, may not be optimized for eternity. However, it does make a short life more appealing.

A more practical approach to heaven and eternity would be live endless adventure and discovery. This will not only fill your senses, in infinite new ways, but also your heart and mind. It would also be nice if you could spend time sculpturing your piece of paradise. It may be hard to improve on paradise, but you have all the time you will need to give it a try. One can also trace your family tree, to the first humans, and spend time getting to know everyone. You will still have plenty of time for other things.

there is only one reason for the ones that do go to heaven. they will fill a position in the government that will be ruling over the earth. you likely know the names of 11 or maybe 12 ...the apostles

I believe that is what heaven and eternity will be like except that I don't believe there will be any sense experiences since I don't believe we will have physical bodies.

The physical body cannot exist in the Kingdom of God in heaven. That is why it needs to be transformed into a spiritual body.

1 Corinthians 15 New Living Translation

40 There are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth. The glory of the heavenly bodies is different from the glory of the earthly bodies.

44 They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.

50 What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.

51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!

John 11:25
Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life;
Jesus was referring to spiritual life, not physical life. The one who has faith in Jesus, even though he dies physically, will have eternal life (spiritual life).

John 3:5-7 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

John 12:24-26 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

you are now referring to the 144,000 in the book revelation

Revelation 1:6

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

its a limited number you likely don't know any of them

How you can equate that verse to mean that only 144,000 go to heaven is beyond all comprehension.

because they fill the positions .they are invited to serve just as the apostles were asked to fallow Jesus. you were likely told since childhood you go to heaven. that was a lie .you now have to get past that lie, that long-held belief

under stand to that the apostles did not know there would be a limit as to how many would be going to heaven. it could be Jesus did not know at that time
