depends what you mean by dating , and if she is a christian who wants to follow bible princibles in her life, maybe she loves him and he loves her , not sure what you mean?

What is wrong with dating on and off for 2 years? Isn't this something your friend has to cope with herself? Why do you need bible passages?

many women fall for the tough inconsiderate types...even marry them...
When it all goes wrong and they split up.... most will marry the same type again.
They usually find nice guys boring.

It is not an addiction, Just passion overcoming common sense.

I don't think that wanting to have a bad relationship is an addiction. "Addicted to Love" was a great song, but love and relationships are not really an addiction in the same way that one can be addicted to drugs.
What she probably needs is a distraction, something to occupy her time to get over this person, and possibly counseling. Personally I don't think just throwing a bunch of Bibly quotes at her is going to fix the problem.

She needs some professional help, not bible quotes. Allowing one's self to be abused is not healthy. Nor is believing that her happiness is in the hands of someone else.

OK...if she's looking for something Biblical, try this:
Galations 5: said:
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary the one to the other; that ye may not do the things that ye would.
If she knows this guy is bad news, yet keeps going back to him, then she's probably in lust more than love.

I'm not a counselor, but I play one on the internet.:p I recommend that she make a clean break and not date this guy again. Perhaps she could become more involved in actitivites at her church and increase the chances that she will meet a guy who is more in tune with her spiritual needs.:)

How true, but I would add that the same can apply the other way around 9men being continuously attracted to "unsuitable" women.

I am not sure that I agree with you; I have been addicted to "The need for love" all my life - like drugs, it may een be a neurological disfunction (caused by experience, true, but patterns are still established)

There is a difference, however slight, between an addiction and a compulsion. "Needing" a relationship is a compulsion. An addiction is something that is physically or psychologically habit forming.

Yes, addiction is a kind of compulsion, but not all compulsion is addiction. Much in the way that not all Christians are Baptists, but all Baptists are Christian.
