Im making tea. Do i leave the leaves in? I never made tea before...

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
If they are long leaves whole, you can put them directly into your cup or pot.

Otherwise for ground leaves, a tea strainer is good for seeping until the brew is ready to enjoy.

Definitely leave them in for at least 10 minutes. If you feel the taste of the tea is overwhelming, experiment with taking them out of the cup earlier and see whether you like the taste more when it's "lighter."

You can also put the leaves inside a strainer as @Rival said. That saves you from the risk of choking on small particles of ground tea or on the leaves themselves:

Anyone got any idea what this gonna taste like? Only tea ive had is green tea and sweet tea.
