A Bug for Dan

I've never seen this design. It would have to be rugged for my dimensions.

Holds up to 150kg, about 330lb. Held my 90kg. I would however prefer it made a satisfying click when it locked in place. Even with a few test thumps I was concerned about detelescoping into a screaming heap.

Sorry, but this thread reminded me of the anti-evolution book "Atlas of creation" It had some rather humorous insect pictures in it.

Can anyone identify this insect?

Yes, and image search is cheating and something only I would stoop to:D The author of the book was a loony creationist that i am a little jealous of, Well, not now. But he was an odd duck. Do you want to see one that was in his book that @Dan From Smithville will not be able to identify?

I didn't need to go to image search, when I clicked on it I saw the file name. You should have changed that, rookie error.

I think I've seen it before... does it have some kind of fungus infection? Infection is probably the wrong word.
No, it is another fishing lure. This was also in the creationists book. He "found" an ancient spider that had supposedly had not evolved for many millions of years. There is only one problem. This is another fishing lure. This was a creative one by the maker. Usually he makes very realistic reproductions. This one was from his head. If you look very carefully you will see the hootk.

Supposedly if you look even more carefully, I can't see it, you will see this:

I can see part of the hook if I blow it up a lot

I can see it now too. Some spiders build a web that they carry around and use it to snag insects. That is what you see there. If you look at the backend of the "spider" you can also see where the hook appears to be.

This is the source of those photos, It was written by the maker of those incredible lures:

Fly Fishing lures published in Atlas of Creation as living specimens

This one was in the creationist's book too. He just took the pictures, he never accredited the author. I did not post it because it is the most obvious of the lot:

You can also see how the creationist used the photos in his book.

It would hold me then. I might be a smidge more than your 90 kg.

Looks like something from that old movie Angry Red Planet. I have no idea what that is supposed to be.

I thought that was hilarious when that book came out with all the stolen images of fishing lures and what not.

On the other hand, that wacko had good taste in women.

I was going to make a joke about the women but finding out that the surgery they underwent was not their choice changed my mind:
