Do you remember this from a few days ago? You seemed to be implying that Christianity sells itself on the strength of its message rather than through a millennia-long campaign to propagate it:

It Aint Necessarily SO: So has the propaganda. Look at the word and its root. People have been propagating this religion and its scriptures all of that time, sometimes at the point of a crusader's or conquistadore's sword, sometimes with missionaries, sometimes in Sunday schools, sometimes by putting Bibles in hotel rooms, and even sometimes advertising during the Super Bowl. Super Bowl ads will tout Jesus 'gets us' to the masses - ABC News (go.com)
Christianity is a business. It's how you support yourself. It's why there are as many churches as banks, gas stations, and fast food restaurants. I just looked at a list of Super Bowl advertisers praised for their commercials. Every one is a business: Sam Adams, Uber, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Bud Light, GM, Netflix, and Crown Royal.

Religious television advertising would be banned in Germany, as was the case with the Power for Living campaign (2001).

However, religious services may be shown, and in such programs, religious books and media may be promoted (as long it's not a mere shopping program).

Apparently the German state considers its citizens incapable of distinguishing a Bible from a hamburger.
What was the reason for banning advertisement?

I watched part of the Super Bowl yesterday, but I didn't see this commercial.

Well, my view is, if Jesus wants to come down and resolve this current mess of dissension and discord, then I won't stand in the way. I don't expect that will ever happen, though. But you never know.

It is impossible for me to do such a thing. But you did insist another poster was being insincere (that is a part of being glib). Just like you tried to tell me what my views really are regarding Super Bowl merchandise, to the point you called bull**** after I explained my position.

I wonder how much money they spent for ads that only helped reinforce existing believers. Couldn't this money have been better spent feeding hungry children, and getting sick, poor people healthcare they need?

If Christianity needs to vromote itself perhaps demand more rational thinking from it's followers, and explaining what their morals ought to be.

To say "Jesus gets us" is more feeding the insecurities of ego, and feeding ego itself. I don't see this helping the believer be more like Jesus.
It was around 2 million dollars. Just for the ad spot from what i hear..

I didn’t see it as propaganda but rather sharing the message - yes the power is in the message and we do propagate it

it is a business in the sense that it is God’s business and his business is about people

I went on their website. They offer t-shirts with their message on it for free, working on donations. Why can't all t-shirts be like that? T-Shirts online with a message on them are often $25 or more if you include shipping. And custom t-shirts are often even more than that.

Including the naive bad examples that many Christians are oblivious of being. Good people tend to be good Christians. Bad people? The Word and its messages doesn’t make them good.
