He Gets Us - I think this one was on the Super Bowl

Religious television advertising would be banned in Germany, as was the case with the Power for Living campaign (2001).

However, religious services may be shown, and in such programs, religious books and media may be promoted (as long it's not a mere shopping program).

Apparently the German state considers its citizens incapable of distinguishing a Bible from a hamburger.

I wonder how much money they spent for ads that only helped reinforce existing believers. Couldn't this money have been better spent feeding hungry children, and getting sick, poor people healthcare they need?

If Christianity needs to vromote itself perhaps demand more rational thinking from it's followers, and explaining what their morals ought to be.

To say "Jesus gets us" is more feeding the insecurities of ego, and feeding ego itself. I don't see this helping the believer be more like Jesus.

I've seen several of the commercials in this series in the last few weeks. I think they are pretty effective in juxtaposing common tropes of our current world (such as immigration, poverty, political and social discord, etc.) against a Jesus that undermines such tropes...

But I also just read an article or two about the organization that is producing these ads, and I find that their motives may not be completely transparent or honest...but maybe that's just me...I tend to be suspicious of any organization that's spending money to recruit new members and affect policy...

He didn't say they can't or shouldn't, and lets not do that thing again where you tell us what we really meant.
I didn't tell him what he meant or can't say.
So you needn't get all huffy over that straw man.
I recognize glib bull **** when I see it.

I'm going to take the other side and say helping people's spiritual perspective is more than worth that money.

There you go, telling us it was glib just because of whatever. Insincere? On what grounds is this assumption made? Shallow? Not as shallow as telling people what they really meant.

That was @Shadow Wolf's mistaken inference.
Read my posts...not hers.

As does mine.

I did- your comment was to me "Let'm advertise" as if I had challenged it. Here's some salt to eat with your words.

Advertising for Jesus to me reduces him to a commodity like beer or some politician.
That sounds like glib bull ****.
Let'm advertise.
