There must be more going on than what the video showed(or I missed it)

I'd heard that there were many others on on site.
So I wondered when the other shoe would drop,
ie, sanctions against those who just stood by, &
allowed this brutal beating to continue.

While SCOTUS has said that cops have no duty
to protect anyone, there are limitations. And this
man being in police custody is one wherein they
take on some responsibility for his well being.

I hope that at least a dozen people rot in prison
for their actions & inaction. Send a message to
other cops....
Behave yourselves, or you'll be sharing a prison
yard with people you've pinched before. If you
think civilians hate you, inmates do even more.

SCOTUS concerns me. We're are finally and consistently seeing the police being held accountable. The SCOTUS is working against this to keep dangerous pigs on the streets amd protecting and defending the excuses of the piggly-wiggly to get away with murdering us.

We need more civil libertarians on SCOTUS.
But the important thing is gender & racial diversity.
Note religion or legal philosophy.

Psychopathic traits will still remain the number one (hidden) qualification for hiring police officers. This won't change imv.

I don't expect any changes whatsoever for departmental hiring of officers, because it takes a psychopath on the side of the law to fight another psychopath on the criminal side of the law.

Unfortunately some go off the reservation so to speak, and of course this trend will continue unabated because of the attraction for hiring psychopaths is just to strong to ignore by police departments for no other reason that psychopathic people make the best officers in terms of indifference and bravado for combating the worst of the criminal world and their ability to intimidate people they police.

I think they need an established record of neutrality and sound, reasonable judgements before they can even be considered. Christian, atheist, Marxist or Libertarian I'm more concerned about the candidates ability to separate personal life and professional verdicts.

I'm more concerned that they be civil
libertarian constitutional originalists
with a good head on their shoulders.

It's interesting the big guy in Memphis, hence the mayor, in charge of the police , is Jim Strickland. A Democrat.

It's also interesting Davis the police chief
, had been fired from previous posts. Also led the corrupt psychopathic Scorpion TSk force.

Memphis top cop who set up aggressive Scorpion task force was in charge of corrupt unit in Atlanta | Daily Mail Online

far as I know, another Democrat.

It's weird you get your talking points from Marjorie Taylor Greene. And you're proud of it...

How is questioning the insinuation that democrats are to blame for bad cops, especially considering the source (MTG), the same as defending/excusing bad cops?
Democrats are responsible.
So are Republicans.
I really don't know which is worse.
They have different flavors of how they corrupt the system.

Another guy badly beaten by cops.
This beating was entirely unjustified,
& brutal enuf to kill, but fortunately,
but the guy's concussion wasn't fatal.

The police are still investigating themselves,
& haven't found wrongdoing yet. 6 months
later, the cops are still on paid leave.
I'm skeptical that giving deadly thugs a paid
vacation is going to incentivize better conduct.

How to not get killed by the cops, 99.999% of the time:

-Obey the law.
-Be respectful and cooperative towards police whenever you interact with them.
-Do not behave like an undisciplined maniac.

Is it really so difficult?

It is with some cops.
Ever hear of Daniel Shaver.

And sometimes, one should disobey orders,
eg, demanding ID when not legally required
to provide it.
If citizens give up their rights just so cops
won't throw a fit, they'll have no rights.
