...or something insane is that I have seen people protesting against petroleum-fuels, by vandalizing monuments with paints made with oil-derivatives.

LOL - I never thought of that! Great point. And doesn't paint pollute the environment? I wonder if they paint their homes and fertilize their gardens. :) Did they bike there or use a car? :)

So, what we do or don't do in regard to the environment doesn't matter? So, the vast majority of climate scientists are delusional?

IMO, it's not a zero-sum-game, namely that we can take steps to mitigate global warming without destroying our economies. The evolution towards electric cars makes sense, and it's "funny" that so many complain about gas prices but appear not to stop and think that if they had electric cars this would not be a problem for them, and it also would help others in the process including those who do use gas [supply & demand].

I'm not really a fan of Bill Mahar. His takes have been getting worse year after year. His brand of "comedy" is dripping in smarmy condescension draped with his own sense of his self importance

Like I said, not a fan
It was a bit annoying that he called everything climate change when climate change is only one of the problems he was discussing.

He also misused statistics. Something that can be extremely annoying. There are solutions for some of the problems and they are being slowly added into the mix.

If and when we get fossil fuels under control most will not have even noticed the change.

It's sad how self centered people are. Even the slightest inconvenience means they no longer care about the world we will leave for our grandchildren.

Well, if he's saying that we need to get more serious about climate change, then I agree with that part. He does have a point about private planes and the celebrities who use them, and he says that other people would use them if they could afford to. Although a lot of people can't even afford to fly commercial.

Strictly speaking, if Back to the Future or The Jetsons are anything to go by, we should all have had flying cars by now. On the other hand, Soylent Green and The Omega Man foretold of a much darker future, which seems to be the direction we're taking at present.

Anyone who frequently uses a private jet for convenience should not be taken seriously when they talk about the environment.

It's like someone with their billions in a tax haven telling others to make sure they pay their taxes in full.

It is the epitome of virtue signalling, and they are basically saying "you plebs need to change your behaviour otherwise you might cause problems for my lifestyle".

I find he often is at least thought provoking, and the discussion panels usually good. And he just doesn't put things softly or sugar coat them. He's also one who predicted Trump accurately.
He's definitely a Devil who's credit is long overdue.

Of course, as per my signature, Jesus will come before Soylent Green. Not that we just do nothing, but the reality is that the world doesn't care. China will not change as well as other countries.

He's also full of surprises.
I mean...when I found out he is straight...I said to myself: come on, really?
He doesn't sound and look like one...

Btw...he is one of the few comedians that make me laugh. He is great :)

Have you seriously not learned how uncool--and unappreciated and totally unwanted--this sexist **** is?
Yeah, Bill is straight. And he often points out society's hypocrisy that finds it unacceptable for him to be with a younger woman.

We just do something that doesn't inconvenience you? I'd hate to see you have to try and drink your milk shake with a cardboard straw.
