Epic fail

Matthew 23:13

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
What do you suppose this verse has to do with capitalism?
Not seeing it.

With love all things are possible but that only works in regards to meritocracy, talent for being responsible for the needs of the whole, and loving thy neighbor. That isn't a leap of faith but an actual understanding of what it means to love god and neighbor LITERALLY as self.

The rich can't get into heaven until all the extraneous baggage is stripped away.

You can't serve love for all as self and serve just love for self.
You didn't really answer my point.

How do you see this?
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
Mark 10:30
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

On a side note, are you selling everything you have and giving it to the poor? As compared to 85% of humanity, you are rich.

how can a being have many mothers unless reincarnation is true?

There is no beginning, or end, except of the created. Recycling is perpetual.

The last becomes first and the first becomes last.

Being rich in excess isn't the same as having one's needs met. Love does what is needed not necessarily what is wanted.

So having things needed is necessary. Neither extreme, neither to the left or right. Jesus wasn't a hedonist nor an ascetic. He had access to money through the disciple Judas, who carried the purse, general fund.

Again you can't serve self, selfishness and love.

I live in one of the poorest states in the union. I also live in one of the poorest areas. I don't live all over the world. I have to pay the local costs because of capitalism. If I were rich I could fly to a third world country and get some typical health care procedures for a pittance.

The vast majority of preachers in the Christian religion are hypocrites. Just like those of Jesus' time. Whitewashed walls selling real estate to everywhere but here.

Seems to me that somebody that God blessed with wealth could serve others in a big way.
I'm still not following your logic.
You claimed the kingdom isn't of this world. That's because those who are self serving don't want it.

Most Christians want the goal post, standards to be different here vs when they get there.

Proverbs 20:23

I agree in principle about serving self et all...

But you really didn't address the scripture. I am a "father" to many people though not by blood.

Seems like you are assuming that wealthy equals corrupt.
Abraham was tremendously wealthy for a man of his time and God called Abraham his friend.

It all goes to the attitude of those who sit at the table are not necessarily like those who serve at the table. Some do not serve but expect service. Some sit at the table and still serve.

Hypocrites expect service but do not serve.

In a meritocracy all is about service. He who has much responsibility more will be expected and given. He who has none, even that will be taken away.

He/she who does the will of love is my father/mother.

..seems like you are trying to pretend that Jesus did not say "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

The message is clear. Love of wealth is a hindrance to our faith.
We do not become rich by sharing our wealth with others.
It is not easy to become rich without an intention.
It is not easy to stay rich without an intention.

Abraham went out, saved, and returned his people and wanted no spoils.

Serving with love to restore happiness to those in need is reward enough. So again the idea goes to merit and the idea of shepherding. Not over lording

I will support your above statements with an AMEN...

The problem is only that you equated capitalism with the condition of the heart. Capitalism with the right heart is good and with a bad heart is bad

So... was Abraham rich and did he enter into God's Kingdom?

Exactly, love of wealth is a hindrance, if we love things more than God or people.
Love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, not money itself.
Yes Jesus said that and.... then he went on to say that with God anything is possible.

Yes, it's all about the attitude of the heart, not the amount in your bank account.

I agree..

Yes, in the context of the disciples asking "who can then be saved?".
It does not mean that rich people will find it easy to enter the Kingdom of God .. that's nonsense. :)

It is not easy to accept the life of an ordinary person when they are used to a big income .. it is very hard to "let go".

Why would you ask such a question?
What is it supposed to prove?

Are ordinary people able to be as close to God as a prophet? No.
Temptation .. better not to put it in front of us.
You might think that you are immune to the devil's whisperings,
but I certainly don't think that I am!

I ask God not to give us a test that we cannot bear .. that we cannot pass. Amen.

I'm not sure one has to accept the life of a "normal person." to be saved...Whatever normal is.
Sometimes it's very hard for a poor person not to be jealous of the rich, so that's just another form of valuing money too much. I have caught myself at times, thinking how easy it must be for the wealthy, but that actually doesn't seem to be the case.. wealth can certainly bring temptation but it also brings a lot of extra responsibility.
