Doctor Admits That Deaths From COVID-19 Overcounted

It's a legitimate question, how many died from covid and how many merely died with covid?

Because you could test positive and have no symptoms whatsoever, or only have a mild case, or just have a false positive.
You could die from a heart attack after getting the vaccine and still test positive for covid, and be counted as a covid death.

The number of excess deaths is a very good indicator.

"If these patients die, COVID might get added to their death certificate along with the other diagnoses. But the coronavirus was not the primary contributor to their death and often played no role at all."

It's always been like that; where contributing factors are listed on death certificates. It's nothing new. But since it's COVID, people are now aware, and all of a sudden, its a conspiracy.

Does the mean that government overreacted in dealing with covid?

I had it. Three months after I had it, I was in the hospital for a pulmonary embolism. Damned near died. I now have Thrombophilia and have to take blood thinners the rest of my life or I die.

A friend of mine just got out of the hospital. He was on a respirator. COVID.

A good friend of mine was quite sick and lived in Texas, a right-wing science denying state. It finished her off.

Collin Powell just died from it.

In my entire life, I have never known ANYONE to die from the flu. In just a couple years, I've known more people who died with COVID then who have died in my whole life of Pneumonia or Bronchitis. At this point, it's a little late; but too many people didn't take it seriously enough. Now that so many people have died because there are those who were more worried about livelihoods then they were lives, those who contributed to it are incapable of recognizing the role they played in so much death thus incapable of admitting wrongdoing thus incapable of holding themselves responsible.

Science denialism and conspiracy-oriented thinking and misinformation campaigns has really hurt us this time.

Our reaction was less than a lot of other nation's reactions. Heck, here, everyone was an "essential worker". In India, one had to text a phone number to get a pass to go to the grocery store.

Government didn't overreact. The ones who overreacted were the ones marching down the street complaining about not being able to get haircuts. Or storming State capital buildings with GUNS.

Particularly the Association of Physicians and Surgeons who were truthful about the government insanity

Don't know of any specifics of what they may have said a couple years ago, but its not what they're saying now:

CNN medical analyst and Washington Post columnist Dr. Leana Wen admitted in a column, Friday, that the medical community is "overcounting" the amount of "COVID deaths and hospitalizations."

Even if she did make this statement, she didn't "admit" to anything because she's a columnist who isn't participating in the counting outside her little world; thus, it is a "claim" not an "admission" (at best).

In Holland they did it also, and had to admit it;

Link? Source? I googled to verify or to discredit, but didn't find a thing.

No, I am not supposed to "find my own proof".

It's a legitimate question, how many died from covid and how many merely died with covid?

If I am HIV Positive and wind up with AIDS; I catch the cold; my immune system is compromised; I die. So that's a death from the common cold; Right? So AIDS deaths are overcounted, because we're not sure how many died FROM AIDS or how many died WITH AIDS. Right?

You said:

I asked:
Of what?

You say:
People.
You forgot what you were arguing about. You can use the back arrow in quotes to go back to see your original question. You did not do that. The first post was an answer to a question of yours.

It is possible that you might have survived one virus, but didn't because Covid-19 left you weaker, and your immune system less able to fight the virus that ends up killing you. Which was the proximate cause of death, in that case?
Exactly!

And since one may have had both simultaneously, covid could logically be a factor in weakening one's ability to fight off the other.

all because of "me, me, me, me, me and my rights do whatever, screw your rights to not suffer the consequences of my stupidity."

See, I disagree with that. It's not about "my rights", it's about me not doing something I don't want to do because I have that freedom of choice, and/or doing it because you want me to do it. But of course if that's what defines "my rights" so be it. Then it is my right.

If you're vaccinated, and mask-up, and the vaccine and masks are so effective as is hyped, what's the problem? No, the "but it's doubly effective" is a bogus response. I'll be blunt (again, as I have been in the past on this issue) ... you are not my responsibility any more than I am yours. It's not selfish, So then maybe it is my right to do and be what I want. There's no indication or proof I'm a threat to someone else. It's funny how "my body my choice" applies in some cases and not others.

I remember a totally inane and asinine conversation on these forums about not letting my child bring a peanut butter sandwich to school because some child may be allergic to peanuts. I would offer that the person not buy any deli salads from the bowls in the cases, when tuna salad and seafood salad are in the same case as pasta salad or potato salad. After all, someone may have an allergy to fish, and a deli worker could splatter a little tuna into your potato salad without realizing it. Conversely, someone may be allergic to eggs, and the egg salad or potato salad may "taint" the sesame noodles salad. I mean, for God's sake, c'mon already.

It's long past time people took responsibility for themselves and not require others to do it for them.

The problem is that mentality has failed, horribly, and it's basically saying if you don't want hit by a drunk driver then stay off the road.
It is all about me and what I want, even during an emergency and global pandemic, damn the health amd wellbeing of everybody else.

And have it censored as 'misinformation'?
Hey guess what? This thread has already been moved to the covid forum and no it wasn't censored as mis information.

I can almost admire your dogged refusal to understand how things work here. :D

(Not to mention your willingness to flaunt that lack of understanding.)

Bad and disgusting analogy. Drunk driving is illegal, it is a crime, A connection can be made between a drunk driver and hi/her victim. Not being vaccinated is not a crime. And there better be some damn good evidence before accusing someone of infecting another person.

It is all about me and what I want, even during an emergency and global pandemic, damn the health amd wellbeing of everybody else.

That's Chicken Little/Henny Penny talking. I'm not vaccinated, never will be. Almost three years later I haven't had as much as a sniffle. No one around me, no one I've worked with can say they contracted covid from me. If they did contract it, they know who they contracted it from, someone close to them who was sick.

So really, let's stop the fear-mongering. Caution is one thing, histrionics and melodrama is another.

Covid really doesn't kill in and of itself. It's the severe inflammation, organ damage and opportunistic infections that tend to be what kills.
It's sort of like HIV in this way. HIV itself doesn't kill people. It's the complications and opportunistic infections that do. But HIV is still considered a deadly virus.
Still missing the point. Deliberately, I think.

It's not a crime but it poses a general risk to the public, especially to those who legitimately cannot be vaccinated.
Amd it's not just you. When people who forego reason end up flooding a hospital that strains healthcare workers and hurts the community at large by depriving it of these resources over reasons that amount to recklessness and foregoing sensible precautions.

Vaccines work. That is the evidenced based position of science and medicine.
You are the one erring from this.

I never said they don’t. Stop twisting things.

No, I don’t see in only black and white. I can think for myself and outside the box.[/QUOTE]
