Towns and paranormal activity

I thought you were going to post out something paranormal. A tree that some people think looks like a humanoid figure (though I honestly don't see it myself) and randomly decided that it must be Jesus for some reason doesn't strike me as anything special. If anything, this supports mundane explanations like pareidolia and confirmation bias over anything else.

Well, I'm not looking for a debate of the paranormal, really. Sorry if I gave that impression. I'm just here to talk town lore (basically).

Actually, to specify further, I'm kind of taking a more analytical "middle grounds" approach to this subject - notice when I post an article, I'll talk about it, but I won't necessarily say "That is SO true!!!!" Although I might talk about if I felt that I myself, have experienced such a thing.

That being said, being objective has its limits in this thread, as if I'm too objective, I might just say "it's all hogwash", and not relay anything.

That being said, I do believe in the paranormal, though I tend to look at natural explanations as well.

Although I don't have a source, I once watched a "most haunted places" show on TV that mentioned my town. I was surprised, since I didn't know ahead that they would.

No, a tree that some people think looks like a humanoid figure is not paranormal. What would YOU consider paranormal?
@Sgt. Pepper has lots of paranormal stories but I know she does not want to get into a debate about them. I have one paranormal story I might post soon, and I don't care if people agree it was real, since I know what I know.

@Sgt. Pepper has lots of paranormal stories but I know she does not want to get into a debate about them. I have one paranormal story I might post soon, and I don't care if people agree it was real, since I know what I know.

I'd be interesting in hearing about it. Although, my advice is to keep a thick skin about the responses you get, as from my past threads on the subject of the paranormal (not talking about this one), some people [may] be prone to arguing, trying to prove points, and pressuring people to believe a different way. It made me question myself on this subject at one point.

If it helps for anything, I was about 16-17 when I watched the show, and I am now 33.

So if you look at ghost programs, maybe search the ones from 17 years ago.

My advice to you as a medium and paranormal investigator is to not let skeptics gaslight you and make you feel ashamed that you believe in paranormal phenomena.

ten to 20 years ago would be the range I remember seeing Quincy featured on at least one TV show...I'm thinking it was a particular cemetery, which checking online notes about Quincy would be south of town proper, but really, that's all I seem to remember about it...

That cemetary could even be the same one covered by the article I posted which talks about the devil man - just as a possibility.

Same here. I live in a city of 100,000. I have said its name many times here. But if one lived in a town of 100 that would be a very different matter.

I live in a town of 3 or 400 but no one would be coming to Karuah anyway. However I do like when overseas scammers try and pronounce it.

I know exactly what you mean. Here we have Tulalip, Sequim, and Puyallup. My city is easy, but others in my state not so much.

Two people on this forum already know about this, my friend Duane (@Truthseeker) and @Sgt. Pepper. Duane is not absolutely convinced it was a paranormal experience, although he concedes it might have been. @Sgt. Pepper thinks it was a genuine paranormal experience. I totally trust her judgment so that was enough confirmation for me. What do you do when there is no 'normal' explanation for a phenomenon?

Speaking of cemeteries, I know it may seem strange to most people, but I enjoy visiting them. I enjoy talking to the spirits who reside there. The spirits who inhabit my town's two cemeteries recognize me and address me by name. I also try to communicate with and comfort the new spirits that have appeared since my last visit. I will occasionally try to persuade these earthbound spirits to cross over, but most of them don't want to and refuse to, so I don't press the issue. I've been to a few other places where spirits recognize me and address me by name, including my in-laws' house and the hotel where my husband and I stay when he's on business in an East Texas town (I have an older thread about it here). It's hard to believe it's been nearly a year since I posted that thread. Time flies.

There is nothing abnormal about believing in the paranormal. If the supernatural exists then it is logical to assume that paranormal phenomena are real.

Since I already believe that there is a spiritual world beyond this world, paranormal phenomena make perfect sense to me. I believe that the spiritual world is just as real as this world. In fact, according to my Baha'i beliefs, this physical world is just a shadow stretching out, a mere reflection of the spiritual world.
